How Facebook is Quite Possibly Becoming the Biggest Scam in Marketing and Advertising Ever

Interested in hearing the thoughts of those of you who actively promote on facebook. I never really thought of it before, but the article proves that fb advertising IS basically a huge scam. They make you pay money to get "likes" but then only show your content to a small percentage of people who "like" your page, and want you to PAY MORE to "boost" your posts to get people that already like your page to see your content! Kinda ridiculous...

Well when it comes down to it in the end Facebook was made from the start to make money. I feel like the CEO mark zuckerberg is no doubt a genius, but he really is in it for the money. The way he acts and the way people have talked about him in articles and in the movie makes it very clear to me that he Loves Facebook and loves technology, but he is the kind of guy that wants to make as much money as possible and will do what ever he needs to to get there.

So it does not surprise me that Facebook has become what it has. There was a time when I couldn't image how any website would ever take over facebooks position. But the way they are starting to Monetize it like talked about in the article you posted makes me kinda angry because they are slowly starting to ruin something that is so amazing. No doubt facebook is the best way to keep connected and see what friends / family are up to. But when you read about stuff like this it really is just sad.

    LOL!

Zuckerberg has the world over a barrel. I don't see what Internet Marketers are complaining about. You see, even if a lot of people hate the ads on Facebook, which I'm sure a lot do, it's not like they are just going to boycott it. They will continue to use Facebook probably for the rest of their lives.

If he decided to keep Facebook "Ad-Free" he would be spending thousands, or millions, each month for nothing except a "Thanks". Zuckerberg isn't some kind of "Indie Programming Hipster" giving away his hard work for free "for the people", He got over that when he gave synaplse media player away for free.

The fact that you are able to advertise to almost the entire world if you wanted to has to be a reason to rejoice in the Marketing community! People will start calling Google "The Biggest Scam In Marketing" just because it allows people to place Adverts in the search results!

My adblock plus google extension blocked 20 ads on that bloggers site. Talk about facebook being a giant billboard while this guy does the same thing on a smaller scale to attract traffic to make money off of this. Niceeeee.....

    No it's not.

Thank God. When I sign into FB I don't want to see thousands of ads. Neither do 100% of the users who use FB for social purposes.

    Kinda ridiculous...
...but mostly genius. If you don't like it then you can spend your own millions setting up and promoting a website that the majority of the user base uses for "free."

    Make money?! How horrible!
So it does not surprise me that Facebook has become what it has.
A company that has spent tons of time and money to test what works best with the largest base of users who use it on a regular basis and has optimized its website to fit their needs.... As in, not slamming ads and posts on every single person each and every time he/she signs in.

No, you meant they're keeping something amazing for its users and not ruining it by letting marketers have their way.

Some cause-oriented hackers recently hacked one of my websites. So I researched what they're about and then donated a large sum of money to the entity they hate the most.

The next time they hack one of my websites I'm going to donate DOUBLE.

I am also in a bit of confusion. I am really looking forward to get started with Facebook marketing. I thought it is worth spending money there because in a span of time it will become almost free form of marketing. But when I read this kind of reviews about FB marketing that they are providing fake likes/clicks, I am really getting confused.

These articles that Facebook is a scam can continue circulating around as it simply diminishes the competition and gives us (people who are making money using FB) even more wide scale traffic....

But even if more and more people hopped on FB for their business... I still couldn't tap the vastness of this network... I can't even come close.

So no, FB isn't one HUGE scam... it's an advertising network that works... all you've got to do is WORK IT (or at least, figure out HOW to work it).

I dont agree with the article.
Face Book is a good place for advertising for some niches.
And by the way, we cannot force face book to change the way it is handling ads.
