  • Latent semantic indexing keywords (or LSI keywords) are SEO terms. LSI keywords are relevant or similar keyword to another keyword .
LSI looks for synonyms related to the title of your page. For example, if the title of your page was “Classic Cars”, the search engine would expect to find words
relating to that subject in the content of the page i.e. Bentley”, “Austin” and car auctions.

  • Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) is a mathematical method used to determine the relationship between terms and concepts in content. The contents of a webpage are crawled by a search engine and the most common words and phrases are collated and identified as the keywords for the page

  • Latent Semantic Indexing is extremely helpful to keep up with the keyword density also to be protected from keyword stuffing. Thanks
  • The main point of LSI is, the more unique content you have the more likely you are to use words that are related to your search terms. Google will pick up on this and you have a higher chance of ranking for LSI keywords which might be less competition.
  • One of the fist major lessons I learned about IM is the terminology seems designed to be intimidating. Not sure why that is but LSI is one example. Most marketers have heard of it - few know what it is. Even the definitions of it are a bit technical sounding.

LSI is one of the most common sense functions google has come up with...it allows you to write for readers rather than repeated keywords for search engines.

Simplest example: If you are writing about something related to "dog", you can use the words pooch, pup, canine and even man's best friend...and you're still on target for keywords in google's view.

IN a more disciplined application, LSI allows you to choose primary, second, tertiary keywords and still keep your article on target. I've written for extremely organized and successful site owners who used that detailed method for every article that appeared on their sites.
