It all depends where your customers are, no?

And don't forget Google+ - that is also becoming big.

I automatically send my FB posts to Twitter and other places. Twitter is where much more of the 'real' world interacts/communicates (as opposed to the tiny world of IM). And don't forget LinkedIn as well for business purposes too.

    Both of them are good.
You cannot compare them with each another to choose which one is the best.
Never ignore one for another. Market on both of them.

I've always preferred Facebook because I just don't care enough about everyone's personal thoughts to constantly be bombarded with them via tweets. But that's just my personal opinion.

As said they are both important and you shouldn't focus just one in social media marketing. I personally have better results with twitter but that's just me.

Yeah I think it will be difficult to compare them in terms of which is better. To make the most of social media I think the best is to out source it to someone to manage it for you, and someone trustworthy.

Twitter is a very useful tool for business promotion. It is not difficult to comprehend how Twitter works, so if you invest the time into educating yourself about it, you can increase your exposure to thousands. Take time to educate yourself on using hashtags, keywords, as well as anything else that will be useful to you when you learn about Twitter.

Facebook is out there with millions of people, just waiting for you. One of the things Facebook is famous for is the potential for endless exposure. It's really unbeatable. When it is used strategically and consistently, you will notice that increase in your company's visibility. Make sure you are posting comments, tips, advice, and offers regularly. By doing so, you will build credibility and respect, which in turn will lead to increased revenue.

    Hey Guys,

As per one survey, facebook fans response is around 90 % while in twitter case it is only 33%. I can't put that survey link over here so i am sorry but if you want you can search on google.

    Now here is my experience,
From my facebook page i am getting around 50 to 60 visitors everyday....not so bad ohmm....while only 5 to 10 from twitter.

    So in my opinion....facebook rocks

Agree with everyone else. It depends what kind of market you are in, who your audience is, etc. Definitely would recommend setting up a Google+ account because every article I have read says it is about to blow up and become the new go-to for social media.

For some of my clients, we get much more interaction on twitter, others get almost none. It also depends on what type on content you plan on posting. Different users go to different sites for certain information. If you want to post about a flash sale, use twitter. Tips and tricks are great for both Facebook and Twitter, but with Facebook you can add more details. Remember that you are limited to how much you can say on Twitter.

    Hope this helps!

Twitter has too many fake accounts. You have to wade through 100 fake and dead accounts to find 1 real account.

Facebook's engagement is real more often than not because that is where the majority (of the U.S. population at least) spends it's time.

      hard to say...

I noticed....both like getting the same results...

facebook..also you don't always "confirm" will get viewers see your message ...

twitter too...as it "fast pace" ....but twitter is more easy on mobile...the interface..
whereas Facebook....on mobile...is not so silky smooth than twitter..as twitter don't display much photos...thus easy on mobile...

      this is what I noticed...

I won't say that a particular site is better than the other but then again each website has it's own pros and cons. Twitter while is good for it's time constraint targets then facebook is good for it's user base. The choices made by you should reflect the maximum benefit that you want to reap. It's better to hire a SEO/ eCommerce expert to do this initially and then gradually doing it yourself. This is the most profitable way of earning online reputation.

ere are the top 9 reasons Twitter is better than Facebook
    1. Friend vs. Follow: On Facebook, if you’re friends with someone, all of their stuff comes up in your feed. And let’s just say that not everyone knows how to use social media wisely. On Twitter, people can follow you, but you don’t have to follow back.
    2. Short and Sweet: 140 characters for the win!
    3. Hashtag Linkage: Sure, you can use hashtags on any social media platform, but they don’t actually do anything except on Twitter. Click that #hashtag and you’ll be linked to other tweets using it.
    4. More Celebrity Interaction: Just a personal observation, but it seems to me that more celebs seem to actually tweet themselves, as opposed to their Facebook pages, which seems like a big advertisement managed by their PR folks.
    5. Fewer Ads: Are the promoted posts on Facebook driving anyone else bonkers? The promoted tweets aren’t so bad -- maybe because of the 140-character limit.
    6. Retweets: People are much more likely to RT something of yours they like than to share your status on Facebook.
    7. Cellphone Compatibility: Facebook mobile, in a word, sucks. Meanwhile, there are a lot of awesome Twitter apps out there that integrate really well with your smartphone. I use Echofon and am very happy with it (not an advertisement).
    8. Breaking News: It happens on Twitter. The running joke when news “breaks” on TV is, "I heard about that an hour ago on Twitter." Over on Facebook, my stream sometimes shows posts that are a day or more old.
    9. Privacy Settings: Since I joined Twitter in 2008, the privacy settings haven’t changed much, if at all. Seems like they’re changing every other week on Facebook.

I think of Twitter as an announcement place - sort of like classified ads or a billboard. Quick announcements and news. Yes, you can engage with some tweets, but I find the best use of it for quick announcements with links like new products, back in stock, holiday reminders, etc.

Facebook is my next step up as it allows for more engagement and conversations, though I generally limit posts to 200-300 words with links to more.

G+ is the place for longer articles 400+ words rich with keywords. Google indexes them almost immediately which is best for SEO use. I find I don't get as much engagement on it as Facebook, but the SEO benefits are the best.

My blog gets the longest version of the articles, 500+ words. The others link to it or to my stores directly depending on the articles.

Of course use keywords and hashtags on all of them (well tags on the blog instead of hashtags but same idea).

So really all the social networks working together gives the best results I think. And smaller networks like plurk, tumblr, etc can be worked in too depending on where your target market is.

I was a lot more active on twitter. I got 3 to 10 visits daily from 3000 followers from twitter. Facebook was on and off. I only had around 280 likes on facebook page and was not active too.
Google plus was starting to feel good. Some of my google plus posts ranked on google first page for some good keywords. I was also starting to use facebook more but unfortunately, i lost my website because of deleting an important folder in wordpress. So cannot say much about the comparison. I think both should be good. Even if they say facebook referral is 90% and twitter is 33% , it's not of much worry to us. We can only get a small percentage of those numbers to our website and at such a smaller level, those numbers shouldn't matter in my opinion.

Like: Pinterest, LinkedIn, Youtube and Google+. You can get more customers and business leads from these source.

If we are talking about these two platform (facebook and twitter), Then Twitter is best because o twitter we can get professional persons.

Yes. Speaking of pinterest, it has a very cool feature called group boards. It allows others to join your boards and pin. The members can also invite their friends or anybody to join the board. When a person follows your group board, the board will also show up in their profile. So you reach lots of people. It's a collaborative effort.
