How often should you post on Facebook?

Important question...and so many different answers.

I know people who do it every hour or even more often, others say one per day is enough. How much is optimum?

There surely is connection between number of posts per day and likes you get for a post.

This graph says it all. Take a look and share your experience...

I don't have an exact number of times to post but I can tell you from experience that while it is important to post consistently, you want to avoid posting too often because then your followers will hide your posts, completely defeated the purpose of your page. Post with caution!

I would only post when I have new blogs, a lot of brands repost other people's blogs as well as long as it's related, but they don't post no more than 4 times a day usually. At least the ones I follow.

    Depends on your business.

The thing is, Facebook only shows a small portion of your audience your posts without paid reach. Even if you posted 10 times a day, the majority of your audience would like only see 1 in their newsfeed (if they're lucky).

Interesting chart, however as others here are mentioning; There is a clear limit to how often you should post. Based on the chart alone you could conclude that if you post 50 times a day you will really get a lot of new Likes, which is obviously not true. I have no scientific proof to back it up, but my general experience is that it's seldom wise to post more than 2-3 times per day in average.

I don't know how many posts should be done on facebook per day but the number of posts doesn't matter, the quality content matter which makes the other users to hit like or comment on it and there is no connection between the number of posts and their likes.
I hope this reply would help you.
    Thank You.

I have tried posting once a day as well as thrice a day. Multiple posts a day don't work, which is true. But even posts sent once a day aren't picking up traction. Any suggestions?

I wouldn't recommend a couple of times every day but you can do it once everyday or whenever you have something worth sharing

I can recommend one or two Post is sufficient. If you share more than this, your follower get irritate and might be hide your post. so be careful while posting.
    Thanks,

I don't think there's a good rule here. It really depends on your content and community.

Put yourself in the minds of your users. If you were a user, how many posts would YOU want?

We usually post 6-7 times per day, never less than five times. It really works for us -- we've grown over 100% in 3 months completely organically and our engagement rate is usually 1 to 2 times our likes (currently over 300K likes). Of course, it's not unusual for us to spend an hour crafting a single post, so it's not like we're just throwing a bunch of garbage at our community. (Which brings to mind another "rule" we break: our posts are long!)

All that said, I don't think our model would work for most sites. Then again, you don't care about what works for most sites. You care about what will work for your site. And for that while conventional wisdom and other people's experience can be a good starting point, there's no substitute for experimentation and a user-centered approach.

I guess it depends on the niche you are in...what is your niche?

I definetly agree there! Because we post 5 to 6 times and syndicate but mix in interesting articles relevant to the IM niche.

It really lives and dies with content quality and relevance.

In my personal experience, I post on facebook in the morning between 7AM-9AM, in the afternoon between 11AM-1PM and in the evening between 6PM-9PM.. why? because most people are more likely to engage on the said time; before going to work, during break time and after work make sense??

It is a good idea to post up to 3 times per day! Quality posts are better than just posting.
