Is there a "Facebook Slap" coming?

Ed Dale sent out an e-mail to his list pointing to a blog that I think is a pretty important read. In it he makes a very compelling argument that Facebook will soon do something reminiscent to the "Google Slap" . It's a quick read, but an important one, in my opinion. I hope it's ok to share the link here.

    Ed is two months late - it already happened. Most of FB pages are averaging 3% reach. I don't know what is the other "slap" is talking about.

    Facebook is dying and their reaction to the problem is to take as much cash now before the house of cards comes tumbling down. The reduced natural reach is to force more immediate cash into the coffers before the next figures come back showing they're hemorrhaging even more users in their target demographic.

    Their algorithms are amazing but all of their actions show that they know they are on a massive downward trend. I wrote an article about this subject but don't want to spam the link around.

    I have a friend who has been legitimately adding people to his list in facebook... family and friends. Then he gets suspended for inviting too many and also gets told he can only invite people who he already knows outside of Facebook. Is this a new rule? Or have I simply missed it?

    If you're not doing anything wrong on Facebook, with your page or timeline then you might not have anything to fear. It would not hurt to take a quick read of the Facebook TOS (page and timeline) guidelines to ensure you are abiding by the rules.

    As for what he said about being banned from Facebook being 'embarrassing' on a personal level, there are many people who simply start another account; add all their personal friends/family again and start over.

    It's not so easy for an internet marketer with thousands of legitimate fans to recover and start over. But, I'm sure it can and will be done.

    I have had problem getting ads approved that ar pretty tame...yet I see all these make money ads on Facebook. I think that they will totally clean this up soon. Sees funny that some people are able to get them approved.
