I started with a bid of advertising and inviting everybody I knew. Than I did some share for other pages and let them share me back so I got new likes that way for free. And further I posted things that got them to respond to me.

So because it was a page about basketball. I shared a picture about a player and asked a question about him. They liked those things a lot and also reacted to them more. Especcially when I posted things that a lot of people didn't agree to what a lot of people are discussing about.

Always provide value to your fans and engage with them all the time. Then redirect them to your website or squeeze page and build a list out of your fans. Send them basketball related emails then recommend products to them from clickbank or create your own product.

Sell T-Shirts through Teespring or try mylikes. They are probably two of the easiest ways of monetizing your page.

If The traffic in not generated by bots then yes you can push some game offers or simply retail some basket ball merchandise.. but again depends on your traffic and ofcourse the pages engagement rate ..Like I can even get 45K + or 4M likes but if all my users r dead they whats the use of even thinking of monetizing the site .. so have a look at the statics and their activity graphs and make they engaged to your post only then you can bank big money

Get them on your list then you can promote whatever you want to them, not have to worry about post reach/engagement or links being disapproved or not.

Easy way is to create a custom tab and an ad to that tab. Also, a post on your page (boosted if need be). Offer a free giveaway that's basketball related.

You can grab something off Ebay and draw a person at random from your list. Send it directly to them to avoid extra postage.

Smal price to pay for getting them on your list.

Survey them to see what they want….

Perhaps outsource the creation of a report based on what they want. Sell it for a reasonable price.

You can earn money in facebook by applying facebook ads, and also if you have a lot of friend you can share name your website pages that some people are interested with the good sharing and surely they will visit your website and if they find what they need on your website it will lead you to earn money.

It depends on the content of your website that you are sharing with your friends in facebook. For example beauty products, fitness products and latest technology and latest gadgets that many people in the world are very interested in that things. Well i just want to repeat it depends on what you are sharing with your friends and also it depends to people who are viewing the share.

It's amazing how some people can get so much likes from their Facebook page because it's not simple to get one with many likes but if you did get one what I know is many people would sell it to other people and the price range are from $5000 or more and this is still be going around on many sites so maybe you could try selling it through here maybe.

If you want to make money from Facebook then you can take a hard decision for advertising, SEM(Social media posting) and related work. For this reason you need to find owner or client who want promote his link. Then you can contact him and promote his link in your Facebook page and as a result client get leads and you will pay for promoting. I think it is easy work and easy earning from Facebook..

When I first joined Facebook, I started out with a trivia game that wasn't real trivia. The answers to the questions were my opinion and I stated them as fact, and with arrogance, to boot. Attracting mostly old friends and acquaintances from the neighborhood I grew up in and remained my entire life, more than 200 friends became members of my private group.

I had no interest in making money with it, although I did realize that there was a networking potential that I could tap into in the future. After a few years, I lost interest and it has since fizzled out.

I need business advice before getting the group going again, so that I have specific goals to achieve. Am I better off having a website first, so that I can direct contestants to it?

you can share amazon product relate your facebook page niche, most your fb fans will happy check the product if they need the accessories or anything basketball related.
Then you will get commission if your fb fans buy the amazon products.

Find an affiliate program. Affiliate programs provide you with a unique ID and marketing materials, and then pay you a commission based on how much business you generate.

Most websites you've heard of offer such a program. Since there's no cost to the site for letting you do this, practically anybody can become an affiliate for as many sites as they want.
Start with well-known brands. Amazon offers a competitive affiliate program that pays a percentage of any purchase a person makes after clicking through from your post, even if it's not anything you advertised. Apple's iTunes program has an affiliate program as well.
Add in smaller programs. Though less likely to generate money on a given day, you can diversify and gradually increase your affiliate revenue by offering a wide range of advertising services to many different businesses.
