Facebook competitions - how do I set one up?

Used to be Facebook had all sorts of Rules about running contests - you had to run them on a 3rd-party site, you had to display t&c's...etc. Only the big co's and really tech people could do it or figure it out or you had to use an app service.

Then Facebook eased up on the rules for contests and made it a lot easier for Page owners to run them.

All you have to do now (one way to do it, anyway), is this: Post a picture or a meme of some cute puppy - as you know, everybody likes puppies - and just ask fans to Share it, with one random person who Shares winning the tshirt or whatever. Put some sort of deadline on it, like one person who shares in the next 7 days (or month, etc) will win! Then just track who has Shared it...pick a person...Done.

Don't overcomplicate it. Make it VERY EASY for people to enter, which Liking and Sharing does, and make it easy on yourself to administer. : )

"We’ve updated our Pages Terms in order to make it easier for businesses of all sizes to create and administer promotions on Facebook. Here’s what Page administrators need to know:We’ve removed the requirement that promotions on Facebook only be administered through apps
Now, promotions may be administered on Page Timelines and in apps on Facebook. For example, businesses can now:

• Collect entries by having users post on the Page or comment/like a Page post
• Collect entries by having users message the Page
• Utilize likes as a voting mechanism

As before, however, businesses cannot administer promotions on personal Timelines."

Rafflecopter is most common and they have script to automatically run giveaway on the facebook page. What you need to look at is the conditions the giveaway forms allow. I can care less about design as I seen better looking ones but rafflecopter is best converting in my opinion.

I use FB Tab Engine, it has all the Facebooks Apps you'll ever need ie, Contests, Tab Pages, Photo Contests, Video Optins, too many things to mention here. Check it out, I think its the best free FB tool.
