Teespring Sales - Fanpage vs Ads

Hi guys,

So here's the thing...I contacted a fanpage owner (100k fans) to promote a shirt and got the campaign to tip, actually it was 22sales on a goal of 20.

After 2 days, the page owner decided to stop posting on the page...But since i was left with 3 days on the campaign and that it had tipped, and since i saw people were engaged and quite liking/tagging/commenting the shirt posts, i thought running newsfeed ads to the shirt would probably work just as well when targeting the same kind of fans.

Yet, after close to 16$ in ads, across 3-4 test ads...People don't seem as engaged and i still have yet to see some more sales than the 22 i already had! My cost per website clicks are around 0.15-0.38$.

So this brings me the following questions:

- Can an existing fan page sell pretty much anything to its fan base and they will buy? meaning a shirt design that wouldn't do well anywhere will do well on a page...

- Is the only difference between my ads and the fanpage posts is that the page had some "trust factor" while i'm more "cold" traffic.

- Should i keep running the ads because it sold well on a fanpage, or consider the 2 very different cases, and just see it as a normal test that failed after close to $20?

Some pointers will be appreciated!
