Struggling for Initial Content - Video Production

I currently run my own Production Company startup, and am a freelance filmmaker in my local area. The idea for my business is essentially to produce and release films, starting with low budget shorts and then onward, designed to grow. I have my own personal blog that has my own views etc, but the idea is this business is an outlet for release... much like these larger studios. But we're starting small and building.

Obviously social media is a huge part of this and building an audience in anticipation of these films is important, to get initial watchers and then sell a DVD with extras and bonuses etc to fans who liked the film. That's my model.

My problem is that with this product, its not ready until its filmed.. and while we are on our initial feature, theres not a lot to post. When theres a scheduled shoot we post pictures from set, but these are a few weeks between. I don't want to become this annoying page that just posts links to content from other people and look like we personally do nothing, but what do we realistically put out whilst the final product is in production to engage an audience.

Has anyone had any experience of this? A social media page for a business that needs to build a customer base but hasn't got an initial product to launch yet.. its something in production.

Of course when this grows this isn't an issue, I plan to work with other content makers to release through us, so you'd have multiple photos and coming sons and trailers and etc as things are made. But initially, where do I do battle?

Many Thanks
