Helped W/Friend's FB Pg & Accidentally Created 2nd Similar Page! How Fix?

My friend has had a Facebook page for about 2 years and didn't know it. He thinks when he got yellow page advertising it was created for him as a package. It's not a friend page, but his biz page where he gets "likes". As part of deal I have with him, I was to do some work for him and as well as setup, edit or fix anything that needed done with the his FB page. I have a separate FB page myself, a friend-type page. Don't know why, but I wanted to be able to manage his page somehow and I thought I saw an option to connect my account to his. Now sure. ???

I noticed there are 2 identical page names now for his page. (example: Thomas Plumbing and another Thomas Plumbing) In fact when I thought I was the admin of his page, I added some new news as a post and it stated it was from the same biz, but there's no user profile pic... as if it's someone else. In his account I got notification someone posted on his timeline. It was me as Admin of his account. That would be like me making a post on my own FB, then getting a notice for it.

Here's what I want to do:

1.) I want it back to normal, to have him have only one page, his biz FB page. I can access his page through his user and pw and do work from there.

2.) I don't want my personal account as Admin anymore.

3.) And if it's possible, to get rid of the other name that somehow got set up accidentally.

What do you think happened? Did I accidentally set up a personal page with the same name?

Your help and advice would be most appreciated. I searched around his admin panel and can't figure it out.

Thanks,

This solution could be as easy as finding the right button, but I'm not seeing it.

It would be nice to figure this puzzle out!

    Thanks for looking.

If you go on edit page > general settings, near the bottom there in an option to merge duplicate pages. You can send a request to facebook support and as long as the pages are of the same thing, they will merge them into one page. Then you can just ask him to remove you as admin from the page and do all the posting from his facebook account instead.

    Hope that helps?

I would do it on the page that was created first. So i'm assuming that is probably on your friends account

That wasn't the best question on my part, for sure. I should have given it more thought to know the request should come from my friend's Fanpage.

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it. G'day!

I'm disappointed. You guys are "suppose" to be good, but you left me hung out to dry. LOL! I found the problems and the solutions...

In an attempt to create a new facebook page, I ended up creating a regular friend facebook page.(accidentally) I also chose the option to make my role as "Admin" of the page. So now he not only has a personal page, but his original fanpage.

Since my role as another fb member being Admin, I would navigate fb as his fb name. I then went to the top of his fanpage, Page Manager and clicked <Edit Page>, then clicked <Manage Page Roles>. From there I saw where I was an Admin. On the far right there is an X to remove me as Admin.

For now him having the other fb page won't bother anything, just leave it limbo for now and I'll just keep my role as Admin.

Took a bit on my part to figure it out! Thanks for your views people... and also your help Solvico.
