Youtubers help pls - Too much traffic but very few clicks

by awledd 12 replies
I posted a link in the description of a youtube video which gets more than 8000 hhits per day. (After making deal with video owner). Now I am getting less than 20 clicks per day. I was expecting some wave of clicks like over 200 or so. What could be the reason? Any suggestions? Thx in advance.

Depends on what it is your trying to promote. If your link a full version like (i.e. www dot something dot com ) or is a short url like goo dot gl. If it is people most of the time are unsure where they will end up. Also is the video on youtube of a good nature like something interesting or something that some people would find offensive.

These facts might determine if people will click on your link. If you have a explaination of what it leads to, then people may click on it more.

But without knowing anything further about the video this is all I could offer. sorry hope it helps a bit..

The video seems interesting for fans and my link in description is a redirect on a subdomain.

The video I am promoting now on has thousands (more than 8000 views/day) but the clicks are so low like 15/day or so. On the other hand I have a video response on some Youtube video and that video response is sending me a consistent 8-10 clicks per day for months.

Any tip to increase CTR would be appreciated.

Thank you SandyDuPlessis I haven't thought of that. Which means if the video is being shared on another site, the viewers can not see my link. It makes sense. I asked the video owner to post a note on the video and if he will do that, maybe things will become better. 1 conversion so far.

You might not a call to action to tell them to click the link in the description. You can add clickable annotations to website in the video to fix this but the youtube account you are using must phone verified and Youtube partnership enabled, you also need paid domain and hosting so you install the code on your site so that Youtube will accept your site as associated site.If you don't want to go that route put an annotation in the video telling them "Go to xyz.com to learn more on <something something>"so when people share it on Twitter,Facebook,Pinterest etc they can also see it.Good luck to You.

Why not make your own video and optimize it with some solid SEO... join SocialAdr and create a bookmark for it and in a week or two your own video with your own links will be right at the top of where you want it...

Takes some work, but not much and if you have any kind of a budget (like what you pay the other guy) put it into fiverr gigs and throw a thousand or 2 backlinks at it...

Youtube is the easiest and fastest place to rank high and quick

    Hope that helps

While I agree with you advising the OP to create his own videos, I cannot agree with you recommending the use of "...fiverr gigs and throw a thousand or 2 backlinks at it..."

YouTube has been coming down hard on links resulting from bots. It is far better and a lot safer to trickle in links, views, likes etc

A three year old high volume traffic video is DOWN now. G deleted it. Maybe it was due to a link I changed from CPA offer to PPD. I said sorry to the owner and really I felt bad b/c I think I am to blame. End of story.

    * the traffic was mainly from youtube as he showed me his stats.

Did you add multiple calls to action in the video...

As well with a note on the actual video reminding them to click the link below?

    Sometimes freebies do the magic
For some traffic that do not convert good, you could always get them on email list by giving freebies and sell them later,
Works perfect most of the times
