Proper use of #Hashtags

Hi, I would like to know more about using Social Media #Hashtags to increase social presence.. I've heard hashtaging you keywords or brand name makes an impact to your keywords.. But is it applicable to use like place a full longtail keyword on a hashtag.. or should i put each word on a pound sign?

Eg.

#longtailkeyword or #1stword #2ndword #3rdword etc.

    Hashtags should be short, catchy to put in tweet of 140 characters. You can search popular hashtags on a particular niche. Use them in your tweet to go viral. You can create hashtag for your brand. Long tail hashtags also work, but then your message will be short. Focus of the reader should be more on message. #firstword #secondword can also be used if they individually comprise another hashtag.

    Yeah, You can use #Hashtags for each and every keyword or longtail word. In social media hashtag stands for showing importance of words. Remember that never give any space between words for which you are using hashtag.

    In social network, hashtag is used for the keywords of topics; or the words are searched frequently. Such as WorldCup.

    For long tail keywords I do a search into Twitter, and if it already exists then I use all words as one htag. Else... I use every word as a htag.

    Search words or phrases you plan to hashtag and check their popularity. There's not much point to hastagging anything if you're the only one using that particular hashtag. Make sense?

    Hashtags really only help if they are short and concise or if it is a popular hashtag already being used. Unless you think you can start a trend all by yourself it's not a good idea to use a long tail hashtag that no one else is using.

    instead of cracking your brain and creating your own hashtag, consider leveraging existing conversation i.e. positive hashtag hijacking.

    Whatever service you're trying to use please try to learn the culture and etiquette within the service. If you're using too many hashtags you may seem like an idiot or a spammer. In the first case the users will avoid you, in the second they're reporting your profile. Even though there's a bunch of users who gleefully put every word as a hashtag that's probably going to annoy good portion of the users.

    Hashtags are more of a viral phenomenon, rather than one for search engine optimization. If you use a hashtag that sticks in the mind and makes the person think or remember it later, then you are likely a success.
