4 Strategies To Avoid Social Media Fizzle Out

So over the years I've been doing social media work for myself, for non-profits, for companies, for fortune 500 executives who want to become entreprenuers, and so forth. With so much work for so many people, it's easy to fizzle out and just say 'EF' social media once you get tired.

I think you can avoid that mistake at all costs, and I'm going to help you do so with my simple 4 tips to avoid Social Media Fizzle out inside of this article - Enjoy!

#1 Set Goals That You Can Accomplish

Many Guru's will tell you this. If you try to do too much, then you will end up blowing your engine in this race because of too much stress and deadlines on your motor (which is your brain). Success in social media requires good organizational skills.

Every day (if you can) or week, break down important tasks into smaller and attainable goals that you know you can accomplish. For example:

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings (45 minutes): Respond to status updates and picture comments and blog comments
Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday afternoons (20 minutes): Engage with your audience on social networks
Evenings (15 minutes): Search quickly through your social feeds and save/bookmark interesting content to read another time
Keep in mind my young grasshopper. It is not the number of hours you spend on social media that matters. What matters is how well you use the time you have.

#2 Take A Good Amount Of Breaks

The best way to keep your mind stimulated and fit to deal with challenges is to allow it to rest properly. I'm not saying sleep, I'm saying give yourself a rest.

Take short breaks (five to 10 minutes) every two hours. Focus on relaxing activities, including walks and music.
Drink water frequently.
Stop eating meals in front of the computer.
Sleep seven or eight hours per night.
Take a day off every week.
Of course, there are times when breaks are impossible. So, if you must work nonstop for a long period of time, make sure you fully "disconnect" for 24 hours every 10 days.

#3 Learn to Say “No”

One of my pet peeves is people approaching me on Facebook or Google+ late at night or early in the mornings to talk about business. Yes it's true that social media has changed the way we connect and work, but let's be real here - professional interactions require professional settings. You must let other people know that you are exclusive, and getting access to you means just that.

Having an online office does not mean that you have to put your life on hold in the evenings, on Sundays, or on public holidays — especially when it comes to unpaid work.

Learning to say ‘no’ when needed will save you a lot of stress and headaches. It will also show others that you value yourself and your work.

#4 Have Fun

Yes, you better believe that you better have fun. My philosphy is that if it ain't fun in life, then why in the he!! are you doing it?

Life is short, and you deserve to know that life is meant to be enjoyed, so is social media. Yes you can have fun with social media!

There is always something new to discover, great people to meet, and inspirational-informative conversations to have. And the opportunities for partnership are, quite frankly, amazing.

If you do not make the most of it, no one else will do it for you.

And in the long run, you will be faced with missed opportunities and regrets.

Take advantage of social media while you can, because now is the exact time to do so!

I hope you got some great value from this.

Make the rest of your life the best of your life,
Michael
