Is anyone getting traffic from pintrest?

I recently started to think about trying out pintrest as a traffic source, but im not sure yet.

Anyone here that uses pintrest to get traffic? maybe got some tips aswell?

    In my experience, Pinterest depends greatly on the market. Keep in mind it's mostly entirely women, and mostly the crafty / hipster / fashionista type.

    In other words, if you're looking to use it as a traffic source for something related to crafting, parenting, getting in shape, baking/cooking, etc. it can be quite valuable. But it's not the place to go for most other things. You'll never successfully promote an internet marketing site, for example, with Pinterest.

    Are you willing to share your niche? If so, we might be able to give you some more useful input.

    I agree with the answer above. The most traffic you'll get is related to niches that women are passionate about. Don't expect traffic in the IM niche.

    You also need to give people an incentive to click through to your website. If you just post nice pictures it won't work. For instance you post a picture of a recipe and then people need to click to your site to see how to prepare it. If you're creative you can make it work.

    Seems to be a good source of traffic for specific non competitive products. I often see it ranking for words/products with very few backlinks.

    So ie: google search product name and when you see "results under 10k", you will often see a pinterest result on the first page. (depending on the niche)

    So the wily entrepreneur might try making a pinterest board and scraping a few thousand not so wonderful links and throwing them at it.

    (obviously making sure the about me was directly point back at their website)

    Worse things could happen!

      well, its good that you get traffic and sad thing that not get sale. But what you have been done to get traffic from Pinterest. I drive to traffic on one of my blog.

    Mine blog is also get some good amount of traffic from pinterest and some users converted to regular reader and subscribe newsletter. For me its working somehow.

      It's all about the image. User an image (photo) that makes women want it and you'll get repins and traffic.

      Your description should be like "Hey, look at this hot XYZ I found, isn't it cool". You combine those things and you'll get nice traffic.

        This is solid advice,

        I might add that it is super important to add a price tag directly to the Image, the conversion rate has been proven to be much higher when done this way.

    I'd imagine you'd get some type of traffic, but I think setting up facebook pages would work a lot better as it reaches out to more people then just the majority of people on pinterest which happen to be like 90% women Keep up the good work you'll get it all figured out soon!!

    I've been working on a new site which does target women with visually appealing items where people can purchase the items from Amazon, Commission Junction merchants, etc.. . Additional affiliate links/banners from similar merchants are on each page. Links on the images make it easy for people to pin or share on Facebook. In addition - I have set up a Pinterest account & a Facebook page so I can start the sharing process myself. I may add a Twitter account but not sure it is needed. I will also follow accounts on Pinterest who tend to share my items in my niche.

    What's popular on Pinterest? Popular on Pinterest - what people are loving most today . Ask yourself what "popular" items shown here can you make commissions on as an affiliate from a merchant? Fashion, food, crafts & home decor seem to be some obvious choices.

    I have been crushing it with Pinterest. Launched a new site the beginning of this month 500,000 pageviews and $X,XXX revenue all from that site. Not selling products - just monetizing content with Ad Networks.

    It works for verticals women are interested in for sure.

    Yeah, I'm getting some decent traffic from it. I normally just pin stuff from related niches but I post mine like every other day so that my site can benefit from it.

    I find that posting too much of your own stuff tend to make people shy away from you, unless you are an authority brand.

    Pinterest is clearly a good resource of traffic.
    It is anything you have to do:

    1. Make Your Own Original Content to Pins.
    2. Pins Over Tutorials and Tease.
    3. Focused on trending topics.
    4. Include "a call to act" in your statement.
    5. Hosts Contest on Pinterest.

      In my experience, the conversion rate is MUCH higher than other traffic sources. It all depends on your niche. If your niche is health, fashion, fitness, or craft related, you'll see an excellent conversion rate.

    Hey Edlund

    Pinterest is great for traffic but it depends on what you are marketing on the site.

    For instance, if you posted some Amazon product pictures linking to an Amazon web store that you have created, you will be able to get some pretty good traffic that will convert into sales.

    This is a method that i use to drive more traffic to my Web stores.

    pinterest is very good for getting traffic, pin your own content, repin other niche pictures, also pin on other relatic topic, in short: simply be as active as possible. Call for action within your pins. Include hot girls as often as possible - works always
