  • You cannot use it if it is someone else's copyrighted property. Even if it isn't technically copyrighted, you have no right to use it since it is someone else's. But, you can search for noncopyrighted images in Google Images and do an advanced search for "free to reuse" images.

    • Please don't do it - there are ways to find non copyright images but do your research. Just because it looks like you can use it as someone says its non copyrighted doesn't mean it is. Look for the right attribution to see if you can use it.

One site to check out is sxc.hu - some of these older images can be used but check out the licensing attributes of the image.
  • But it's just an ads, I don't use them on a website
The owner of the photos will be able to find these ads ?

    • I don't think that's the point. If it's copyrighted material you can't use it, whether they can find it or not.

You don't want to risk your fb ad account over this i think...

    • If the owner of the photos find it, you will get into legal trouble.
  • Anyway facebooks now give you access to shuterstock pictures for free so just use that

    • How did I not know that!? How can you access the photos?
    • How does this work?

To the OP, you definitely want the appropriate license to use images for any purpose including FB ads.
