How I deleted myself from Facebook forever (and why it felt great) - Article on Yahoo News

I just read this very interesting article about what some people has started thinking of Face Book.

https://uk.news.yahoo.com/how-i-dele...155414083.html

If people stop using Face Book, as a internet marketer I would be bit worried about as I have tons of traffic coming from there.

What everyone think about this? Please check readers comments at the end of the article, some of them are very interesting.

I think the article is BS... at least in my circle of friends. The notion that
everyone has created this false persona of happiness is something I just
haven't seen. Perhaps the author and his/her friends are all a bunch of
    phonies.

As an advertiser I wouldn't worry about this too much. Facebook isn't going
    away any time soon.

My girlfriend just deleted her facebook account. Now, it looks like I'm in a relationship with an imaginary person. It's too early to tell if it is a good thing or a bad thing for her. Time will tell.

Half of my facebook updates are my friends complaining about problems in their lives. It's nothing like a world of happiness like the article describes...

That said, it's definitely addictive. I only open Facebook to check for announcements from school groups and occasionally chat. I try not to look at my homepage unless I'm really bored.

I don't know what Facebook the author was looking at, but it's sheer misery on Facebook. At least, that's true depending on who you have on your friend list. There were a few friends of friends that I had added randomly and they were just exactly as you described, full of drama.

And, just unfriending those people was the best decision ever rather than leaving Facebook, which I depend on to keep track of my extended family in various locations.

If people start leaving Facebook in a mass exodus, they'll go somewhere else for their social interaction...And when they do, I'll be there.
