Low reach on Facebook posts

My website's fanpage has about 22k likes, but each post has an average reach of 150 views. Some about 400-450, some get more, but most posts don't get to 200 views.

Unfortunately, I am not the person in charge of the page, but I like to follow it closely and I noticed this big drop on reach since a few months ago. I don't know if it is due changes in FB's algorithm or we are doing something incredibly wrong.

I have close to zero knowledge on social media and marketing in general but I'm digging on the subject to improve our social leverage.

How can I discover the cause of this low reach on the page? And after that, any tips on how to revert this scenario without paying for ads on FB?

Edit: I forgot to say that almost every post has almost no participation of our followers. Very few likes on each post and close to zero comments.

you should give some time to your page, fans in face pages aren't just a number.Post good content to your fans and you can post questions to incitate them to comment your posts. This works well to engage your fans.

MrBlackwood, the newsfeed is a busy place these days, there is so much going through it that posts are getting missed and the ones that will get you the most attention are images and video posts, if you post videos from your page you will catch attention from your audience in the newsfeed and can start building that interaction.

Bring your current viewers into interacting with your page by asking questions and for participation, whether that is them submitting pictures, videos or something else that gets social engagement.

Sadly visibility with pages has become a problem and now we really have to pay for boosting our posts to make sure they land in front of our fans and those who have liked the page, so if you do start paying to boost posts, make sure you give people reason to interact with the page.

You have to be careful how and what you post. Make sure it has good content. I know a friend of mine had to start putting her blog address in the comment because for whatever reason it would not show up in people's feeds if it was just in the post. Videos and pictures obviously attract more attention. Me mindful of the time of day you are posting... do some research into when you market is on FB. Good luck

Yeah, the content could be getting pushed down the newsfeed faster than people can log in. Plus people also can choose between most recent or most active posts to show at the top of there newsfeed. So that could also be an issue. There's some buzz going around that Facebook may be suppressing Facebook FanPage reach to force buying of more Ads.

I know if I post a video, or anything with a link...it may reach 1 or 2 people. If I post something that's all text and no link...it may reach 15 or 20 people. So somethings fishy going on no doubt.
