Now that income claims are pretty much gone how about this purposed change?

I'd like to propose that we add a second major section of the WSO forums for sellers in the Offline space.

My personal perspective is that we don't get a decent/fair representation in the main market place because our space is so much different then all the other types of offers being made.

Additionally, sellers only get so many character spaces when creating titles it really sucks to have to spend those spaces trying to single out the offer for those in our space.

[OFFLINE] = 9 spaces
[OFFLINERS] = 11 spaces

This sucks!

Can we talk about the possibility of having a special offer section of Offline offers?

    Wouldnt this then result in others wanting their own section:

    = 0 spaces
    coaching = 8 spaces

    or
    = 0 spaces
    mobile = 6 spaces

    Dont know what the loss of income claims has to do with it though unless you are also suggesting non verified income claims are allowed in the offline section.

      Valdor I see your point but almost all the other offers are related to MMO which really isn't the same as offline at all, it's a whole separate niche altogether.

    Maybe if the main WSO section had a selectable prefix in bold like the warriors for hire section has, categories like:
    mobile
    offline
    list building
    kindle
    copywriting
    .

      I would agree that the WSO section needs to be revamped to allow freelancers of any and all specialization.

      This is a great idea. This would also solve that problem wouldn't it Rus?

        Well it would solve only the problem with the title but I believe that offers for the Offliner space don't get fair representation in the main market place.

        They just aren't relevant and that's why i believe they should have their own section.

        The reason I don't feel they are relevant is because 99% of all the offers are about how to make money with one's own web site, not how to earn an income by helping other businesses.

        It's really a totally different animal.

    Oh for sure I am not disagreeing, however, the wso section is pretty well where most of the deals happen so if they could select the category then only the offers in that category would be visible.
    Then it would eliminate the problem you mentioned.

    Another problem I can see with a section for offline WSO's only is that there are not that many so once an offer has been posted it will stay on page 1 almost indefinitely giving offline sellers an advantage over those who have to use the main WSO section.

    There is already a dedicated offline discussion section where contributing to posts would give your sig link to any WSO's you have exposure to those in the offline services industry / niche.

    I notice WSO traffic, well I should say posting and bump rate instead of traffic, sharply declining. I remember the days when WSOs would get posted and fall off page 1 in 5 hours. Now they're on page 1 usually for 2 days.

    It seems to me that the trend is not going to be increasing any time soon. I wonder if having a separate section would really even help or if it would in fact hurt by sectioning off the traffic?

    Yeah this is what I mean. The traffic stats have dropped but that is also due to the fact people are launching elsewhere. imo, less affiliate traffic being sent.

    However, It would be ideal I suspect for people to be able to choose the category they wish to see and then it would theoretically allow all offers in that niche starting with the newest to be viewed. Otherwise it doesn't make much sense imo

      I'm not really opposed to it. I just don't know if it would truly be beneficial for offliners or not. I think the main WSO section gets the bulk of the traffic, think about that in comparison to the classified section. If I were given a choice, I'm not sure I would want it in the offline WSO section if it existed, especially if it is something that has cross-appeal.

    Having the traffic from the main WSO section is absolutely a benefit to any offline WSO. Rus is right as well. There really needs to be a way for buyers to narrow down their search. The search function in itself, doesn't do a good enough job.

    Maybe there could be an option when registering a WSO that included the main keyword, like offline, software, social media, and so forth. A function that would have every sub forum's category in it then the seller would check it. Buyers could then have that option when searching that section.
    Let's say I am looking for mobile templates. When I use a new search function, I can click on mobile and say, offline. Or, I click on mobile and there is a search bar there that I can type in templates. Something like that.

    This would save time and drive more directed traffic to WSOs. I don't know about some of you, but I believe that many sales are lost because there are too many subject matters in there. If I were looking for something, I sure as heck dislike looking through pages of things. Yes, I have used the search function, but how many really great products go unnoticed because someone didn't type in the correct keyword?

    I really don't know how labor intensive such a thing would be. I do believe investing some time in making that section a little more user friendly would help get products noticed, purchased, increase Freelancer's income with more listings.

    Doesn't have to be at all. If sellers were taught to use the "Edit tags" function, that would go a long way to improving search results.

    Hmm I stopped getting notifications for this thread when there were replies. Oh well

    So some good points here and I do think that if a new section for WSO's were created
    specifically for OFFLINE offers traffic in the beginning would defiantly be low, but I'm willing
    to bet that as awareness grew traffic would be just fine.

    Again my main point is that our space is rather small in comparison to the more known types
    of offers.

    Offline offers are amalgamated into a section where 99% of the other offers are totally non-relevant to they types of stuff those who are offliner's offer and as such those offers literally drown amongst all the other offers.
