Please Lock Down Dead Threads

So I always visit WF by new posts only, and it really irks me to see a dead issue brought to life. Just a few minutes ago, a person here responded to a TWO year old thread. Even the last post was two years old.

Who does that? And why??

Wouldn't it be easy to lock these threads after so many weeks/months/years of inactivity? That way, I won't be tempted to respond to something that is no longer relevant.

I totally agree. I have found the same thing as I also go by newest posts. It's frustrating when you see a few in a row by the same clown too.

I totally disagree.... I've seen forums have very similar posts over and over and over and over again... in dozens of threads. It would be much more organized if they were simply one thread.

How many times have we seen the following:

I've got $10,000 how do I invest it?

I need money NOW. What do I do?

In the end, I prefer "dead threads" being "brought back to life" instead of new threads about the same topic... and the same information being rehashed yet again.

      Hi Rich

I guess you are right. I saw a lot of threads with the the same topic, with almost the same title. Some has different titles/names but the contents and discussions are almost the same with other threads.

Don't we have a system where new topics/threads should undergo prior checking? The page is bombarded with similar threads and it looks so horrendous.
