Is the "add friends" option no longer available?

I wanted to add a friend here on the forum to my list of friends.

I can see add contact, but not send out friend request (as was done in the past.)

Is this gone? Is this only limited to certain members?

Can it be fixed?

    There's the "befriend" option. It's on the box below the friend list of that person's profile, or you can go to your profile and click the "Edit your Friend List" and you'll be able to type in a person's username and add that person as a friend or contact.
