120 seconds between PM sendings limitation!

Hey there new WF administrator!

As a paying advertiser, doing business here for so many years, would it be possible to remove the dam... 120 seconds time limit between PM ???

Indeed, as a paying advertisers we often receive several PM requests and once we login we want to reply to them and having to wait 120sc between each reply is ridiculously as big waste of my time.

I full understand why this implementation exist however as PAYING advertisers we should be trusted to use this system for information exchange and not to PM spam users.

Your thoughts and cooperation in this matter would really be appreciated.

Best regards,
Andre Foisy warrior since 1998

Thanks for the records, but no need to shout me NO in the face!

That said, I still would like to hear WHY from the administration if the answer is still NO today!

Then, for a small fee, the spam would be opened up.

Not all spammers run free platforms. Some people would gladly pay $60 to spam the hell out of all the members here.

Then, accounts would start getting hacked so it could continue on once the legit accounts were banned.

I'm not an admin, but I can see the logistical nightmares it would bring in.

Yeah, that's scenario, so it needs to be done intelligently! Like adding a reputation factor, for example.

There's even worse than that actually. In the past one needed to have a certain minimum amount of POSTS before one can ad a sig file, but nowadays, ridiculously enough, anyone can get in with sig file privilege as soon as they're in, and start posting idiots and nonsense "posts" just to promote their sig file and THAT as become f..... annoying to say the least. One of the direct effects to this is that there's even much less credible and hold discussions than there use to be here in this forum. That minimum posts rule was also implemented for those who wanted to post WSOs, but now we can see WSOs from ZERO POSTS "users" and the results occurring... (well, it's worse than ever...)

So, paying advertisers with some good amount of posts, and maybe even a certain amount of years as a member here, would dramatically reduce the risks presented under any possible "scenario". All it needs, is to be done INTELLIGENTLY!

      Thinking, thinking...

Things change - especially when forum owners change....

Sellers have been advised in the past to include an email (in their WSO copy) that can be used by potential customers - rather than trying to do business by PM with the delays that are necessary to keep spammers at bay.

Members are encouraged to ask question in the WSO threads so others can see the response. Buyers of your products surely receive an email with contact information after the sale.

Just looked at the history and I see why this would bug you - the ads you place are more likely to generate questions by PM. Why not add an email address just for those questions?

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

Necessity is the mother of invention AND innovation!

I'm not sure if I really need to yell you why one should NOT, never, post an email address on a website, but anyway this is way besides the point I try to make here, and way besides what you seem to "assume" regarding my ads. So please don't put on me intentions that do NOT exist, nor tell me why and how I should construct my ads, this is also FAR from the point!

What's annoying to me in the 120sc has been clearly said so I will not repeat it here, please see the OP, and please don't change it to what you believe it is. Moreover, *I* do not control how people ask their questions whether on the thread or by PM, and I did not say I was overwhelmed by PMs either, just having sometimes three or four PMs to reply is annoying enough as in this business (for those who really are) every second is of extreme value.

          Regards,
          Andre Foisy

Point is - you create an email address to use for that purpose....you post an image of the address rather than a link...for obvious reasons.

Oh well, never mind. You are obviously annoyed...sorry I bothered.

LOL, yeah I'm annoyed and what I suggest can be implemented intelligently and still keep spammers down. And technically speaking, you saw my ads you said, you might then have a good idea that I know how to prevent spammers' bots from harvesting web's email addresses, but that's annoying too

But don't paid members also have the limitation of only being able to send up to 5 PM's per hour or is that only for free members?
