The "smiley" icons were updated/edited when the forurm changed ownership.

They're awful! The yellow one is hardly visible

Please go back to the previous ones, or better still offer a choice like the vast array that is available on most makes of smartphone these days

There are far more important things they could be doing.
Like getting rid of the troll on the main forum
bumping up threads from the same date in May.

Agreed like changing the bell to a buy a beer for the best answer on a thread

Don't worry one such troll on another section of this forum seems to have tried again with another forum, (that will remain nameless) he will probably get the boot before long, and bounce back here.

      But true about the smileys.

    Crikey!

steady on chums, I was only suggesting, sorry if i seemed a little "heavy".

Apologies, perhaps I should have realized it was out of context with the suggestions you seek.

Not sure if your comment about the thread bump in May was directed at me or not? Without checking my stats I am assuming not, since I neither recall anything - or would anyway

      No, not at all.
Was just pointing out that someone was ruining the main forum by bumping numerous old threads, and the mods time would be better spent doing something about that.
3 hours later and the same thing is still happening,
so good luck with the smilies.

This suggestion has been made dozens of times or more since the emoticons were changed by FL. The last time it was made in this section was back in June and Dan closed the thread saying it ain't going to happen.

Oh, not good. I haven't been on WF much during the first part of this year - not deliberately, just occupied doing other things; new training etc.

Note to self... must remember to use "search" first

Don't worry about it...search has been hit and miss or worse lately.

    Hey Les -

Was just pointing out that someone was ruining the main forum by bumping numerous old threads,
The "articles" and the "curated articles" seem to have slowed down....I'm wondering if the 2 liner guy bumping numerous threads (almost all from May) is the latest attempt to "refresh" conversations?

I guess if he moves on to bumping a few dozen old threads from June, we'll know he's an FL operative.

It's not normal to bump ten or so threads a day - all from one particular date range.

That seems to be happening quite a lot lately.

I have noticed 5 to 10 posts by the same person in the OT.

I suppose that if someone kicks the horse enough it might, (seem) to move its head?

      Looks that way Kay.
He was also one of the copy and paste trolls earlier.

Looks like you were right there Kay.
      He's off again trolling June.

At least we know now they don't want to save the forum.
Now I can stop wasting my time reporting all the garbage.

Did you notice his "style"? He simply repeats what others have already posted (weeks/months or years ago) in the thread.

Yeah, I've been reporting for that and obviously he ain't the only one doing it. It's also seems to be the newb way these days. Extract a line from a previous reply and repeat it almost verbatim to bump the thread.

Since Freelancer took over it's almost easier to find posts to report than it is to find posts to reply to.

If they are promoting the bumping of old threads without disguising it better than what we are seeing then FL is traveling down a road that should have never been built.

      Good grief.

I didn't notice that Kay. I refuse to read the garbage here.
I just noticed by the amount of threads answered by the same person.
It was so obvious I wonder why the mods don't see it too.
They really need to get a clue here.

Does no good to report it - nothing is deleted. Does not good to asking the person/box why he is doing this - doesn't reply to questions.

Stopped reporting these - no sense in it.

They still don't have a proactive mod staff that can make a real difference. Apparently, they don't want to make a difference...to the serious detriment of we hangers-on.
