NOW what is going on?

Article section seems to be open again....but try to reply to a post there and I get a big old black error page.

The entry is not really an "article" - it's another complaint about clients with an answer by a 'frequent freelancer' here...

Just posting this here because I'm not sure where else. I recently had a relatively big money client ask me to add on to a bunch of work that I did. The add-ons would have been a reasonable request up front but are totally out of scope at this point and the project was completed and paid for quite a while ago. The issue is that they want to know where some of the facts were sourced from and I now have to go back through my browser history and through these articles and review everything that I've referenced for almost 8,000 words of articles!

I'm not opposed to doing the extra work but I thought maybe I could bill them for some minimum wage hours just for going back and taking the time to find all of the sources. That might be a reasonable compromise between my normal bill-able rate and the request that I do this for free - I guess it's my fault for not expanding my client base to the point where I can afford to risk losing them by making a fuss.
Followed, of course, by the standard anti-customer comments ....

but if I try to comment I get a 403 error??? Not on other threads - just on that one - but that one has not been moved or deleted....what's up?

You have a freelancer who can't provide the sources for his facts for 8 long - or 16 short articles? That could be a learning experience but will turn into a rant if only a few are allowed to post in that thread.

    I tried to comment on an article in that section too and got the "You Haven't Upgraded To The War Room" message a few times before I lost interest and gave up.

    Maybe only the paid freelance posters can post there? Would be fine if they could be confined to posting there....but that won't happen...

    Meanwhile - if only a few are allowed to post there - how about keeping it to ARTICLES and delete the rants and client complaint threads.

    Would be good if someone would answer to let us know WHO is allowed to post there - and why other members aren't....

    In another thread someone mentioned that it was open again. But I think it is only open of posts are reported to be moved there. I have reported many posts to go there and a few have actually ended up there.

    Maybe they should have a new category, call it "The Dump"

      I see a lot of junk here and report it as being posted in wrong section and move to the Article section. At least the Mods comply and move it there. It is weird that others can not post there. But then again that is the least of the problems here that should be address.

      Yep; that was me. And true, I had to self-report my article in order to move it. Ironically, someone must've asked the mods to move it again, as it's now in the Main subforum. Hrm; I guess that means that I can (finally) reply to Dan's comment.
