Please critique my sales funnel (not converting at all!)
Share on:

Hi all,

We're promoting this funnel for amusement park packages in Korea:
http://bit.ly/funneleve

Using these ads on Facebook to promote.
http://imgur.com/a/zlFoL

Paying for link clicks or per engagement. We're getting decent FB stats but zero conversions.

468 visits to the funnel and only one inquiry. No conversions.

We ran the same promotion and targeting about 1-2 years ago and were getting good conversions. Maybe 6-7 per day. But we're now getting 1 every 3 days or so.

Big difference between now and then is that FB ad management and interface has become more complicated, and we keep on changing up and trying different split tests to recapture the magic. But not sure if that's the only issue.

Please let me know if you see something that I may be doing wrong.

Cheers!

(PS. targeting is for expats and foreign residents living in Korea. There's 1 million over here and about 70,000 native English-speakers. Half of those are US Army and families. So there's no external concerns impacting tourism due to the NK issue, etc. Besides, we've promoted during times of increased tension and the results have always been good)

Hey there. I am no funnel expert but I took a look. The only thing that stood out to me was the size of the writing in the video. More people are interacting with content from their phones and other small devices now than ever before. I am on a 15" laptop and had to go fulls creen to see the small words and the motion was fast. If the words are hard to make out and add to that having a short time to make them out, people might navigate away more quickly. I know that's how it made me feel until I hit full screen. Hope that helps.
Cheers!

First of all... I'm no funnel expert either but I'm going to tell you why I wouldn't be interested in your offer.

Wrong colors for what you're promoting. Reconstruct your page, get it properly designed. Just because there are some nice buttons and graphics doesn't mean it'll convert. That blue button on the right triggers my OCD although I don't have OCD.

About your FB add? Where's a "call-to-action"? Where's that one amazing thing that will make me click on your ad? I don't see it, sorry.

Makes a lot of sense. Not properly optimized for mobile.

Great advice. That's what I needed to hear. Thanks!

First regardless of what problems the copy may have, if it used to perform well and doesn't anymore, then you would want to look at what things have changed. The trend towards mobile is most likely, so making sure its mobile optimized is a good idea.

As far as the copy / layout - I agree with the reviewer above. That blue button definitely doesn't scream "click me". But the copy is really bland - "Gain Access to Mega Deals like this one" "Get Instant Access to Deep Discounts" just don't have any punch for me. How about "Lock in Your Discount" or "Discounts of 38% and more"

#1: Place the images from the ad in the header area to provide consistency. Your ad is visual, fb is largely visual. When people click the ad, you want to provide fluidity.

For example, each of the three ads has 6 images. Remove the two logos in the top and put the 6 images laid out across the header, maybe at 125 - 150 height.

#2: Headline is too passive. Change to something like:

"Amazing Deal: Expats ONLY!!!
Exclusive Dream Vacation Packages Just For You!"

I'm assuming you're trying to target English speaking expats living in Korea. If I'm wrong, I apologize. Having lived abroad, I can tell you I never called myself a foreigner, always an expat.

Remember, you're paying for the click from FB. Once they're on your page, you bought them. So there's no reason to narrow the scope anymore. Meaning, remove the "packages to ____" phrases. The key is to get their info so you can start the process of converting them into a lead.

#3: Color of the button not as important as CTA. Change text to: "Click to View Exclusive Packages" or something

#4: I'd pull all the buttons up to the top of the fold and put them one right below the other to read something like this:

[button 1]View Exclusive Vacation Rates
[button 2]Buy Discounted Tickets Here
[button 3]Get Started Today

It will work great as a test, and it might pull from those who are curious

#5 Ditch the video. It only has 56 views an one was mine. Nobody's watching it and it's weak. It's only a distraction.

#6 Clicking through to the chopsticks page is a big leap. You just dumped me on the reservation page. That's too big a leap. You need to hold my hand and walk me through the special deals.

Instead, put them on a page where they have a visual of two or three pictures, and the click the picture. For example, on the chopsticks page I see they can choose form campers, tents, and pensions. So I'd have three pictures and ask a how they'd like to spend their dream vacation.

Whatever they click on takes them down a funnel pathway.

Another question could be a day-trip or overnight? Big family/group or intimate couple.

You know so little about the lead (unless you have awesome facebook targeting) that it's really a waste for you to dump them all into the same funnel.

With your response rate, you have no place to go but up, right?
