Looking for mentor who is compensated based on my success
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Hey guys, I'm kind of new to the forum and was looking to hire a mentor who's solely compensated based on the success he or she leads me to. I'm willing to pay a fee to get started but majority of their compensation will be based on my success. I would like a mentor who has had undeniable success as either dropshipping as their business model or affiliate marketing but I am also open to new ideas as well to making money online. Residual income also intrigues me. I know there won't be too many mentors out there willing to get compensated like that, shoot there might be none, but don't you think those that are willing are the true so called "gurus"?

I am very serious about finding the right mentor that can guide me to online success, massive success. Once I find someone who has a proven track record of success and if I deem them as the right candidate for me, I will happily be their student. They will have 200% of my effort at all times. I'm not one to give up very easily and I know I wanna make money online, I plan on never looking back at anything else.

Finding someone like this might be too good to be true. But hey, it's worth a shot. If you have any general idea of where I could find such a service, please help. Any and all information is very much appreciated.

Successful people get pitched this all the time. No serious person will ever take you up on it, and here's why.

You're asking someone who is successful and makes great money online to give away their most valuable resource - time and money.

You're also asking them to take on all the risk. They have to 'prove' to you how great they are, they have to invest their time and energy into you, and they have to make you a success. (in hopes that you'll actually pay them something)

...And yet you've proved nothing. How do I know that you are driven? How do I know that you'll actually listen? How do I know you can follow simple steps and take action? I don't. It's a complete gamble for me. What happens if I pour tons of time and energy into you and you do nothing with it? What happens if you can't ditch your excuses? What happens if you're not willing to do what it takes to succeed?

Well, then I'm screwed. I just wasted tons of time and energy on you and got nothing in return. That's time that I could've spent with my family, and that's time that I could've spent growing my own business.

When it would've been much easier for me to just keep doing what I'm already doing to make more money.. or if I really want to start a new campaign I could just outsource it and keep 100% of the profits.. Instead of having the responsibility of babysitting a newbie, dealing with the headache and only getting a small portion of the money.

So does that help put things into perspective on why serious marketers don't ever respond to posts like this?

Successful people value their time. It's the only commodity that can't be replaced. This is why the top experts in industries charge a hefty price tag for their time.. Because it helps prove that you are motivated, have skin in the game, and it helps weed out time wasters.

I have made tons of money online over the years. I have trained some of the biggest names online. Many of them went on to make millions of dollars. Do you know how many times people gave me this same exact offer?

Every singe day. Do you know how many times I said no? every single day.

this one paragraph states it all. after i started making enough for myself, i started helping others and even mentoring for free. i would dedicate 5 hours a day of my time to do that and try to give back and/or help others get a nice start in making money online(an opportunity i never had myself from others). maybe even jv or partner in the future.

the simple fact is that down the road, i realized more than 90% of the people i tried to help, weren't motivated enough or weren't patient enough or had excuses why they didn't want to continue. it's a shame because there is legitimate help out there for those who want to start a legit online business. i still help people out once in a while and even mentor for free but not until i get to know someone and they go through a question answer phase with me which takes a while if i don't already know them.

in the end though, ghost is 100% correct. he was trying to inform and not offend. in your own post, you made some assumptions that only leads me to believe you are ignorant, misinformed, and naive. you even go so far as to try and define a "guru". a guru to me is someone who will always be willing to help and mentor others in what they know as long as those people searching have already proven themselves through their past actions. a guru is not a guru if that person wastes their time and energy on people who aren't ready for that person's time and energy.

i agree with ghost in that you wont get anyone to help ya with the post ya made. my advice is to figure out who you are, where you want to concentrate your efforts, and who you want helping you when you figure out more specifics. then, instead of writing a generalized open post, write a 3000+ word cover letter and send it only to those people who you want to learn from. anyone can post what you did. you need to set yourself apart from others. if you want to set yourself apart from others, then you need to start spending your own time and energy to do just that. otherwise, you're just like everyone else....that 90+% crowd.

You've received some excellent advice so far...

If you cannot pay for Coaching, what I'd suggest is you figure out what skills you have to offer... and pitch those in exchange for Coaching...

For example, if you are an excellent Writer, you could offer to write 7 articles per week for his blog in exchange for Coaching. Write a pitch for this and send it to all your potential Coaches.

While the work you do won't compensate the Coach for his time, it would let him know that you are serious... and not just wasting his time.

Thank you for taking the time and effort to view and reply to my post. I understand that I haven't proved anything, I have no prior experience and that a mentor would be taking a chance on a complete stranger. But I would want my mentor to ask their potential students the right questions to weed out the unmotivated, lazy, and excuse makers/quitters. Or just a tough venting process to find only the truly motivated indiduals. A mentor should not have to worry about these things, I am truly and 100% committed to making money online and don't quit easily. With that being said, are you still taking on students? I also think a cover letter is a great idea. Thank you again for your feedback.

Or a mentor could simply do things that brings him money and not waste time vetting people who make big promises. In all honesty, what you're looking for is possible but not here and not this way. You can get this, through a personal relationship based on friendship and mutual appreciation but if anyone earning more than $2500/month (yes, that low) would agree to give his time and money for free, I have to wonder why they are not appreciating their time more.

Still, I've received quite a lot of free mentorship but it always came from people that I've worked for, with or people with whom I had a strong friendship.

HI Ozzie 55

I see you have received some very good advice from a lot of Warriors -- but no takers on your request.

Perhaps the major problem is the nomenclature of the help you really need. Do you need a Strategy Advisor; a teacher, a partner or a coach rather than a mentor?

Each of these perform different tasks and are necessary for different areas of learning an entire business. What you may not realize is that what you are asking is an entire 4 year college course in order to start a successful online business. Obviously, no one is willing to do that without some very good compensation, and even then not willing to give up that much time.

Heres what I suggest to you -- that I can perform for you:
first, get some good solid advice, then start with learning the field you plan to enter, then find a coach or partner/coach. You may not ever need a mentor at that point.

I have been in marketing online since the 1990’s and have partnered with 6 of the top marketers in the field.
I am well known as one of the top successful marketers, and as a teacher/partner and for selling numerous products on how to make money online. Just Google my name.

This is what I can offer you. When I get requests such as this from people I first offer them a consultation conference. I don’t work cheap! Although I will give most serious people about a 10 to 15 minute freebie. My regular fee for this conference is $500. This is for 5 days of one hour sessions on Skype – and I generally give several of my programs to the person free of charge.

For Warriors, I will do these strategy-advisor sessions for $300, for 3 to 4 hours time. And I guarantee you will learn how to start on the fastest and best road to be successful in this business.
