I am looking to pay anywhere from $8-$10 an article.

I know it seems like I'm asking for a lot, but honestly, this is easy writing. I don't need you to be an SEO expert and check keyword densities. I just need you to have an interesting voice and be somewhat informative.

I do hope this was written with tongue in cheek, but just in case, this is not an offer of employment. The EEOC covers employers and employees, not freelancers, independent contractors or work-for-hire situations. Not to mention, it only applies to US citizens or those who would be licensed to work in the US.

Actually - even in the U.S. an employer can require English speaking if they so desire. Nothing to do with descrimination - everything to do with being able to communicate sufficiently to get the job done correctly. As far as writing - same as translating. You can require native skills in any language you want.

I'm thinking that post was either just for grins or it was made by some non-native English speaker with a bone to pick because he can't get the contract.

I could, perhaps, understand Krish2007's point if the post was for a specific ethnicity but it says English Native. Krish, in case you didn't know, there are many countries where English is the official language.

If you did indeed report this post, you should have to checked out the EEOC website first. FYI, here's a small snipet of what you'd find "...An employer can only require an employee to speak fluent English if fluency in English is necessary to perform the job effectively..." In the case of an article written in English, I believe fluency in English would be a requirement to perform the job effectively!
