Need Wordpress Template Repair and tweaking

Hi all,

Doing a School project and purchased a wordpress Template that has some bugs and getting no real help from where I purchased the Template. I have two issues. The Website is K1project.org... It is for a High School Summer project.

1) On the home page , there is an area that displays Upcoming Events and Latest News. The are fed from the wordpress Dashboards " Post" section and you in theory pick a catagory which controls if it is an event or news. When you set the Post as News, that works, But not the Upcoming Events. It does seem to show, only if the Date set has passed. Also the Panel is supposed to stay open and displayed what is listed, and it does not. This is not a plug in but part of the Template/Theme.

2) The Media Library needs to be tweaked. From the Dashboard, there is an area called " Portfolio" where you can upload image pages with text. For each page you can create and pick a catagory......

A Template ( not a plugin) is used to display the images in the media library, but it does not allow you to choose the catagory of the videos to show and it shows all of them. What we would like is that when using the media Library template, on the side it would show the Catagores that were created and when you choose a catagory, it would only show videos from that catagory. It seem like it should since it allows you to set up and select catagories... I looked at the code of the Template and there is something that says catagories, but it is all greek to to me.

My budget is very limited but if someone could fix these problems for me I can pay via paypal. Please let me knwo if you can do it and what it would cost. I will give you access to the wordpress dashboard.
