Hey!

We're the co-founders of Link Emperor, the world's most ridiculously effective SEO software.

We've been around for a little over a year now and over that period of time, we've been fortunate enough to see our business grow quite rapidly. We've hired 5 staff members already, and are looking for more as we speak.

The issue we've run into is that it's getting to be a bit too much for us to handle the management of our team, in addition to our own daily responsibilities.

We also have been doing our best to start setting up "real business" type systems and metrics for everyone, but it's been slow going because neither of us is admittedly from a management background. You know, org charts... standard operating procedures... position descriptions... controls... etc.

So... we need a manager! Someone who has experience with and a passion for systematization.

It's a laid-back, fun environment, and everybody works remotely with flexible hours. We'd like to keep it that way, while making sure that we're working highly efficiently as a business. For the right person, this is a dream job.

Description: Project Manager

Job Purpose: Improve the efficiency of the staff you manage by tracking relevant metrics, providing constructive feedback, and reporting the statuses of all ongoing projects to management.

Job Duties:

Creating and maintaining a project management dashboard (Basecamp, wiki, etc. … TBD) to be used to track project statuses, staff, and performance metrics.
Tracking job-performance metrics for all staff on at least a weekly basis. Ensuring that these values are correct. Presenting these metrics in a spreadsheet or similar presentation that is shared with founders weekly.
Ensuring daily timesheets are collected from everyone and sanity checking those timesheets.
Staying on top of new projects or one-off projects and ensuring that they are properly tracked through the project management system.
Regularly reviewing the project management system so as to be aware of the status of all projects. Proactively soliciting updates from staff if a project has stagnated in the project management system.
Understanding the requirements for each job and being aware of what would be considered meeting expectations.
Meeting with staff as regularly as necessary to stay fully aware of their statuses and communicate to them whether they are currently meeting, exceeding, or failing to meet their goals. In all cases, meeting with each worker at least once per week.
Pushing staff to meet and exceed expectations. If staff are are not meeting expectations, taking corrective action to ensure that expectations are met.
Conducting quarterly and annual reviews of all staff, in cooperation with founders.
Drafting/improving position descriptions and metrics and alerting founders about problematic metrics. Developing new performance metrics, especially when new projects or tasks are created.
Working with founders to recruit quality talent when required. Assisting with recruiting and interviewing process.
Recommending certain staff for commendations each week.
Hosting a weekly call with founders to discuss the current state of affairs and the performance of all staff.
Hosting a weekly call with entire team to focus on bringing everyone up to date and brainstorming solutions to any relevant problems that week.
Taking notes during all team calls and ensuring that any assignments made get reflected in the project management system.
Tracking budgets for staff whose jobs involve spending from a budget.
Developing and conducting regular customer feedback surveys that qualify and quantify customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

College degree required, master’s degree optimal
Comfortable working with MS Office / Google Docs, particularly spreadsheets
Management experience required
Experience managing remote workers is a plus
Experience creating Standard Operating Procedures, Budgets and Performance Reviews would be optimal
Experience hiring and training new staff
