I am going to have a number of retail locations in many different cities in North America that sell stuff, they are all independently owned and operated.
I want each location to have the ability to apply for an account and once approved by me they can log in and add certain items and prices as often as they need to. The app will allow them to offer ONE weekly special, one DAILY special and about 10 other items, with a basic description, 1 picture and price (per item).
When a user logs into the app, they can see what locations are in their vicinity and click on the name of the business to see what the items on sale currently are, they can also click on a "directions" link that will show then a map to the location. The location will also show an address and phone number as well as operating hours, all set by each individual business owner.
So in 6 months or so I may have hundreds if not thousands of individual accounts.
This needs to be iPhone, Google and Blackberry friendly.

One initial detail that changes the scope, when you say must be mobile friendly, are we talking about 1 web application that is mobile friendly, or a native app for each platform?

This is not a simple application, it will take quite a bit of development time to stand up, and get it the way you want it. Please PM me what you had in mind for a budget for this project and we can see if this is a good fit.

I will post a reply here because it will help other interested parties to see exactly what I want...

I want a merchant to have the ability to create an account (subject to my approval) for the app, once it is approved I will add it to the main account, they can show 1 weekly special, one monthly special, and up to 10 items for sale. These will all have 1 picture and a price that the merchant can upload.
When a user logs into the app, the gps will pinpoint the merchants in their area and if they click on any of them it will show the specials, a map to the store and the address and phone number.
I would also like a search function that will allow users to search locations by city and a title search that will search titles of items for sale.
Once approved I want a merchant to be able to update their specials, prices and pictures without any effort from me because I hope to have thousands of accounts.
Another idea would be to have a FREE app users can download, but if they pay for the premium app they will be able to see and receive a discount code to be able purchase the daily specials.
I would like an app developed for apple, android and blackberry.
