I'm looking to hire an SEO expert to find out why one of my sites seems to have been sandboxed or penalized by Google and what I can to do rectify this.

I am NOT looking for backlink packages or anything like that.

This site has been around since 2001. Very very low competition specific niche.

For example purposes only, the original domain name was 'genericexample.com'. In about 2005, I purchase 'specifickeywordexample.com'. I did a 301 redirect for the new site and its been that way ever since.

BOTH sites always got page 1 results for every keyword I wanted. Again, this is a very small and specific niche, so we are only talking about 5-10 keywords max.

I am now nowhere to be found for any decent keyword at all, except for the exact term of 'specifickeywordexample.com' that redirects to the original site.

This can't just be an issue of other sites passing me up in the rankings, as I was up there for about 8 years and now I'm gone. Has to be some kind of penalty or something.

I've never done any SEO campaigns for either site. No backlinks purchased, no shady forum marketing, nothing. Shouldn't have to for this niche that has almost no competition.

Again, I'm not looking for someone who just wants to do the usual backlinking to increase SEO, I'm looking for someone who can find out what I did to anger the big G.

people who got hurt by googles recent algorithms in the last year automatically assume that their site is being penalized. that isn't the case at all. in fact, it's probably easier to fix than you make think. most of the changes were for relevancy. since you didn't do any backlinking, then i would have to assume you have an on page problem. it. because the changes had to do with relevancy, it is harder to rank for multiple keywords now. not saying it's impossible....just harder.

since you haven't done any backlinking in the past, then i would highly suggest you start doing that and look at your on page content to see how relevant certain keywords are compared to your competition.

if you want some specific guidance, pm me your site and the keywords you were raking for and i will take a look at it but i am almost sure the two recommendations i already suggested and why i suggested it are the two major issues here. the 301 redirect shouldn't be an issue(depending what you are redirecting to) but i try to avoid any and all redirects if possible(that's just a personal choice).
