Re: [Reviewers wanted] How to Find Products to Promote

Reed was kind enough to supply me with a review copy. The second installment of Reed Floren’s course on building an online marketing business is how to select a product to promote if you don’t have your own product or you haven’t created your first product yet. The beginning of the seminar starts with a re-cap of questions that different students asked regarding the previous course, before starting the new material. In the midst of this, he surprises the other students by highlighting the work of one student who is doing a great job of applying what he had learned in the previous lesson and he tells them that every week he is going to highlight the work of one student who has done something exemplary with the materials being taught. I thought this was good to get the people motivated to do better with what they’re learning.

The new course begins by showing the most popular places where people list their products before they launch. Sometimes the products are announced months in advance to give the product creators plenty of time to gather affiliates, which is the purpose of these boards. Among these boards are muncheye.com, warriorJV.com, and JVnotifypro.com. There is a detailed description of what is the good and the bad of all these groups. There is also an explanation where you can find groups on both Facebook and Skype, two places where many JV groups have migrated.

In the course, Reed then proceeds to show you after you’ve selected products that look good from the above groups, how to determine if they’re really worth pursuing by showing you how to interpret the numbers that matter, which are number of sales, conversion rate, earnings per click and lastly return rates. This is good cause a lot of times, people just look at one of the numbers, like number of sales, and feel that this is a good product to promote.

Another source for products to promote are affiliate programs that have a history of paying on time. It all boils down to 3 of them, JVZoo, WarriorPlus and Clickbank. These have their own numbers as well and Reed shows you how to study these as well. After you’ve selected a product based on numbers, he shows you additional factors to consider when choosing a product to promote. These are more physical and social, such as do you own the product, do you have a relation with the product vendor, is there a review copy, etc.

Before you go promoting these on your customers, he shows you how to test if the product works in the real world. Are people speaking well of it delivering results, is this something that your customers are going to benefit from. For instance, if you’re in the health and fitness niche, it doesn’t matter how good the product is, you’re not going to do very well selling a Forex course to your health and fitness list. And lastly, does it work in the real world? Make sure that the product is not just based on theory.

So, using all the resources outlined above, one is able to come up with products that one can promote and more importantly, products that will make money until you create your own. So that at all times, your customers, the people in your list, can see that you’re selling them something that they can use, that will help them achieve their next level of success as opposed to just selling them stuff cause you want to make money.

You are also assigned homework at the end of each section of the course, so that you can actually apply what you’ve learned and it brings you one step closer to actually making money with the course. This is Reed’s accountability program and he checks each week to see if you’re actually using what he is teaching. He shows personal examples of people whom he’s worked with in the past that have spent money on courses, but never applied anything that they learned.

The seminar comes with the video, the PowerPoint used for the video, a transcript of the video and a checklist of qualities the product you select should have so you’re making the best choice in something you can promote to your list. This is truly a how to build a business from the ground up course and how to do it as you learn. At one point Reed makes the comment that this is like a college course. This is actually better than a college course, since you’re applying what you’re learning and will probably make money sooner than many college courses out there. In closing, I want to say that Reed is a great teacher, he has an easy going style while at the same time delivering a lot of great information and a ton of value. This is definitely this is a course I recommend.

I was fortunate enough to get a review copy of “How To Find Products To Promote” to go through. This PDF / video set is full of useful information that online marketers will find very helpful.

The product comes with three PDFs and one video. The video is a screen capture of a Power Point presentation that starts off with a recap of topics covered in another video. The recap also mentions a homework assignment that was to be done by those on the previous call which consisted of people choosing a niche, getting a domain name, hosting, and an autoresponder. From there the video goes into various questions that are often asked by those who market products online such as 'should I send emails from my own name?', 'how do I track clicks and conversions to my squeeze page', and many others. From there, the video goes into various ideas on how to find the right products to promote.

One of my favorite parts of this video is the list of the various websites that you can check out to find great products to sell via affiliate marketing, and sites that specialize in forming JV partnerships with people looking to expand their product's marketshare by partnering with those that can market the products to a much larger audience.

As mentioned before, three PDFs are included with this product. One of the PDFs contains the slides used to make the screenshot video. Another one is a checklist covering how to evaluate a product for promotion, and the final PDF is a written transcript of the video.

Overall, this is a really good product although the video could have been structured a bit differently to make it easier to comprehend. But definitely great information that many will find very useful!
