A report about Google and twitter making a deal to again index tweets.

Once again Google has to get the Twitter fire hose which is according to a report from Bloomberg. By so doing, Google will be able to index millions of tweets daily unlike the past few years.

Earlier on, twitter and Google had reached to an agreement where Google could access twitter’s fire hose of tweets. By so doing, Google could index the tweets freely without having to crawl twitter. The deal expired in 2011 and Google no longer had access to twitter’s fire hose hence couldn’t index the tweets and hence Google had to crawl to twitter so as to effectively index the tweets. Twitter however had an agreement with Bing which allowed Bing to access twitter’s fire hose and implement lots of twitter features.

Whether Google wants to implements features into their search engine or they just want to index the tweets only is not yet clear. It is also believed that there is a licensing agreement between Google and Twitter. This simply means that Twitter will have to license payments in exchange for the access of the fire hose. When tweets are indexed, this is a full advantage to Twitter. This is because more customers will be attracted and users will use twitter more easily and happily. Twitter will also be adding their add income revenue which is an added advantage.

A study conducted by Eric Enge lay year revealed that Google wasn’t actually indexing all the tweets but was jus indexing old tweets or tweets that were from accounts only with substantial users and more specifically more than one million users. None of the two has commented on this publicly but our main wish is that the changes should be implemented as soon as possible.

These changes will surely make Twitter more attractive and even easy to use. This means that the number of active users will massively increase hence increasing advertisements and production.

Hi, I know they're working on improving the software and making it a flagship brand for the long-run...the delay could have been due to server overload in the beginning with the launch period creating so many new users suddenly.

I'm actually referring to the 30-45 second delay that happens when running a webinar thru hangouts - I've tried 5 different hangout wrappers and each one has produced this delay- I have not tried your software so I was asking if you have this delay as well or not. That delay is the ONLY reason I still use gotowebinar. Thanks!!

Oh ok, yeah I haven't heard of this compliant from WebinarFusion, and I haven't personally tested this feature. Perhaps the product creator or one of their support team members can chime in on this thread (I'm not the creator/owner of the product).

But, in my experience with Google Hangouts, there's always a general lag whenever I've used it...although I find it very easy to use and my preferred method for doing live streams.

I guess I'll never understand why anyone would think that google hangout is a replacement option to traditional webinars. The latency alone should give pause before any marketer considers this product as a capable/viable substitute for traditional webinar technology. It's perfectly fine to use hangouts as a one to many video webcast, but rendering powerpoint slides in real-time with a latent video stream will not convey correctly and most definitely be frustrating to the audience.

Hey Halbertech, unless you use Wirecast to Youtube to send a pre-recorded presentation into a Google Live Event/Hangout...

This way, the presentation can run very smoothly, and you can use Webinar Fusion Pro to simply chat, display calls-to-action and the other good marketing stuff.

I've used Wirecast to send a prerecorded video into a live stream.

Sure you can use wirecast, vmix, vidblaster, etc. But don't you think that is far beyond what any average joe who is interested in webinar fusion pro wants to deal with? Don't get me wrong, this can work for a few marketers the way you described, but for many this product could be a major disappointment when the expectation is that the presentation of content (uploaded slides) would synchronize with the video during live presentation. It simply won't. Doesn't mean that this is a bad product, but just something one should probably consider before purchasing.
