Do you regularly HIRE freelancers? Get USD$30 to complete a spoken 30 minute survey.

I’m paying money to survey individuals who regularly hire freelancers on websites like UpWork, Freelancer or Guru.

If you spend 30 mins answering my questions, I’ll pay you US$30 over PayPal.

Notes about the survey:

- I’ll interview you over Skype. The call will be recorded, and I’ll have it transcribed afterwards.
- I’ll use the ANONYMOUS transcribed interview as educational materials for an upcoming project I’m working on.
- I want to stress - your responses will remain ANONYMOUS. All I need to share is the information you share with me - not your identity.
- Your responses will be read by freelancers across the globe who want to improve their freelancer skills.
- By completing this survey, you give me unlimited permission to use your ANONYMOUS responses however I like.

Here are the questions I’ll ask you:

- What services do you ask freelancers to perform for you? Examples are copywriting, Wordpress development, design, or Google AdWords management.
- Why do you choose to engage online freelancers, and how long have you been engaging them, either (a) on sites like UpWork, Freelancer and Guru or (b) through your own networks? Please go into detail about your history with online freelancers.
- What makes you choose a freelancer over others, during a job bidding process? Please go into details of your preferences in regards to their writing style, their approach to your task, the way they ‘sell’ themselves, their location in the world, their general communication style, and their experience. The aim of this question is to discover what the ‘ideal’ written bid looks like to you.
- What’s the BEST tactic you’ve seen a freelancer use to get their bid noticed?
- What’s the biggest mistake you’ve seen a freelancer make in the bidding process?
- What’s your biggest influencer when it comes to choosing a freelancer? Describe your decision making process.
- When you look at a freelancer’s bio page on a freelancer website, what favourable characteristics or strengths do you look for? What characteristics give one freelancer an advantage over others?
- What would a freelancer have to do, for them to be eligible for a ‘five star’ rating from you? In other words, what does a freelancer have to do to get ‘perfect’ feedback from you?
- What are some of the things that cause you to take marks off a freelancer’s rating? In other words, what negative events cause you to take marks off a perfect rating?
- What’s the first thing you look for, when you’re comparing the bids of different freelancers?
- What would a freelancer with ZERO ratings have to do, for them to be awarded a job by you? In other words, what must inexperienced freelancers have to do to get their first job?
- How do you reduce the risk around engaging an online freelancer? In other words, what conditions must be met for you to be satisfied that there’s minimal risk involved in working with a particular freelancer?
- Do you have freelancers that you use over and over again? Why do you keep going back to them? Do they communicate with you on a regular basis?
- What one final piece of advice can you offer for new freelancers, to help them get more work, more often?

Are you interested in this?

- If you regularly hire freelancers on websites like UpWork, Freelancer or Guru, and are interested in spending 30mins on Skype to earn US$30, please add a comment below
- Note, adding a comment doesn't guarantee you'll be paid - It'll add you to a waiting list.
- I’ll get back to you and schedule a time to chat. I only have a handful of slots available, so it will be first in, first served.
- Please familiarise yourself with the questions above. If you don’t provide satisfactory answers to the questions (AKA wasting my time) I won’t pay you the cash. I hope you think that’s fair :)
- I’ll ask for your PayPal information during the call, and will transfer the cash to you at the end of the call.
