I couldn't agree more - legit survey sites registration is free. I've been a member of a survey site called opinionsite for almost a month now. What made a good impression on me is the fact that instead of paying anything to join, I received $3 for registering and completing a survey asking about my preferences. Paid surveys are definitely one of the easiest way to make money online but unfortunately you can make most of it if you are from US. There are not much good paying surveys available fr residents of other countries.
