InfusionSoft - Should You Stay Away From InfusionSoft?

I'm one of those people who love InfusionSoft; I think it's great and what it's capable of is astounding. To me, it's one of the two key essential tools that you need to have in your business as it grows. Yet, it can be very confusing, annoying, frustrating and challenging for people. I think like anything in life, when used properly it's well worth it and can have a big impact on your business, your growth, automation and all kinds of fun things. Likewise, it is one of these things that if you're not fully aware of what it is, what its capabilities are and how to use it properly, it can cause a lot of frustration. I wanted to share in this quick post what I would say is probably my number one annoyance and frustration with InfusionSoft.

My number one annoyance and frustration with InfusionSoft is the fact that there are a lot of people I know out there that are essentially using this system as a “glorified shopping cart.” What I mean by that is that they're not using all the functionalities it has to offer. For example, eCommerce people send broadcasts, have buy buttons and collect payments, but that's all that they're using it for. Here they are paying probably $300/month for InfusionSoft and using it in the way they could be using other systems that would cost only $100/month. If you are going to invest into InfusionSoft you need to be using it to its full capability. You should be using it in your automated marketing efforts, leveraging what it's capable in that area because I believe that's the true power of this tool.

When I'm talking to other business owners who also use InfusionSoft I ask them how they're using it. They usually tell me that they're using only one of its great features and I always tell them that there is so much more that they could be doing with this amazing software. Whether you are using InfusionSoft for your own company, using it for other clients or are thinking about wanting to use it I really want you to utilize all it has to offer. With this platform, you can take your business and your marketing to new heights if you take use of its capabilities. You really want to learn and play around with InfusionSoft to really understand how all the functionality and features work so you can un-tap its potential to take you and your business and marketing efforts through the roof.

Today I want to talk to you about one of the systems that help my business run. It's called InfusionSoft. If you run an online business or even a brick and mortar business and want to take it online, InfusionSoft is the one piece of software that I recommend. I want to tell you why exactly I chose to switch over to InfusionSoft.

Before I used InfusionSoft I was using a couple of different systems such as AWeber and1 Shopping Cart. On top of that I was using a bunch of other different little parts of systems all over the place and I just felt like it was so disorganized. I was trying to keep track of who had downloaded what free products or EBooks I had, as well as who attended live events with me, paid for live coaching and all that stuff. It was getting extremely complicated to the point where I couldn't send emails to the people I wanted to because AWeber didn't integrate well with 1 Shopping Cart. The first reason why I switched to InfusionSoft was because of this disorganization I was experiencing.

Another reason why I switched to InfusionSoft is because everything is so well integrated. I can keep track of everyone, as well as send really targeted messages and follow ups, which is really great. One of the things I really wanted to do with my website was to create a membership site. I was looking at the different options I had to do that and it just seemed like another system that I had to integrate with AWeber and 1 Shopping Cart. Not that there is anything wrong with those two systems, but I realized that with InfusionSoft I could hook it up with my WordPress website through a nice plug-in and everything flowed seamlessly between these two sites. Now I run a successful online membership site where people can opt-in or opt-out of their memberships themselves. InfusionSoft has allowed my business to run everything on autopilot. It really is amazing to be able to have that in place and not have to worry so much about the system that's running everything.

The reason why it's so important to have everything in one place is that you can just log in and see your orders, send emails, see you opened your emails, have people log in themselves and download materials, get links for different things that you're promoting and even look at affiliates. Just to mention the InfusionSoft affiliate system is really good and I can't stress about how much I love that about this software. Once you get used to InfusionSoft, it's really easy to create new campaigns, funnels and new ways to organize your business. I've seen my business grow a lot with InfusionSoft and I can't recommend it enough if you want to take your business to the next level.

I used Infusionsoft for about a month, and the training was a joke. It cost me $2k. Waste of money and time.

We currently use Infusionsoft, but are looking to change. Main reason being deliverability. It's used so much by so many, it has a problem getting through the big corporate spam filters now. (We are B2B)

Also a small thing but really annoying. It's built solely for the US market. So all the reports are in US East Coast time and time zone cannot be customised. So I just get half a daily report.....

We are looking at other options currently. Just hit another 'stumbling block'.

Infusionsoft only provides a 'shopping cart' feature for one site, per licence.......

Go figure?

How many internet marketers only have ONE site?

We are also considering InfusionSoft, but sometimes, surprisingly they lack some very important features or offer 'workarounds' that can be pretty frustrating. It's also VERY HARD to set up! You almost have to hire someone to help you set it up, especially if you want to take full advantage of the power it offers.

We are also thinking of Ontraport/Office Auto Pilot...

Just really need everything ALL IN ONE PLACE.

Totally understand where you're coming from and believe me, not the first time I've heard this. The training, or Kickstart, is something I hear complaints about all of the time. Did you try using a Certified Consultant? Reason I ask is because when I sell the kickstart to my clients, we dive in and build the business around them. I don't start by saying "okay here is a 30 minute run through of how to log in." That is pointless and something you'll obviously learn along the way. If you get a good consultant to be your co-pilot then it can make using things so much easier. I come from a career in sales and online marketing strategy and started consulting with Infusionsoft about 2 years ago so I have come across this alot! Best of luck!

If you'd like to go over some of the features you're looking for I'd be glad to tell you if thats available with Infusionsoft. Another thing to keep in mind is that if you go through an ICC, like myself, the kickstart and monthly amount can be a lot cheaper. You're right when you say that you almost need to have someone help you, and thats pretty true actually. Infusionsoft is awesome, but most owners using it don't want to spend the time to become an expert at everything it has to offer. This is a "Catch 22" and why you need to make sure you cater your learning to you! Example being, you should have a consultant who will TEACH you and help train you rather than just doing it all and making sure they keep a job by confusing you enough. ;) That's not the name of the game! My structure is that I will not only set up everything in IS for the client, but at the same time I will help them with the marketing strategy based on their product/service AND teach them via online sessions, videos I record, walk throughs, etc so they know how to use it and feel comfortable with what's happening.

This is because, of course, they don't want people running 5 stores on one account. I work with people that have, say 3 product lines, or sister companies. Most of the time they all fall under the parent company, so you can all have one main store front and then separate pages. You can also use order forms on either the new system, or legacy and brand things a bit different, but yes it can be tough to have two, or more, totally different companies on one account. If you need help in any way, just let me know!

I think Infusionsoft is great and that must be the reason many IMers use it.

I've been using Infusionsoft for two years and have not seen a significant feature upgrade the entire time. And many are needed. Ex: There is no way to A/B test email. Or see the opening/click results for each item in a campaign. How basic can you get?

Their main focus seems to be on selling you training, including their "University". Anything I have to go to a "university" to learn to use is way too hard!
