GetResponse - Stay Away From GetResponse?
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Today I want to make my suggestion on an autoresponder that I use for my business, which is GetResponse. Autoresponders are very important in your business, especially if you're an online marketer. For a lot of people it's the heart of their business because email marketing is so vital. Let's say Google AdWords was gone tomorrow and there was no Facebook advertisement available, if you have a list built up of highly responsive followers, you'd still have a business as opposed to marketers that just solely depend on advertising platforms. When selecting an autoresponder, you need to choose wisely and I highly recommend GetResponse. I'm going to get into brief detail about why I really like them and I'm even going to compare GetResponse to other autoresponders out there.

A lot of you are probably familiar with AWeber. A lot of online marketers use them and I'm not knocking it over or anything, but it isn't my favorite email marketing tool. I know they lure a lot of people in with their $1 first month trial, but if you go on to GetResponse there is a testimonial of an online marketer who was previously with AWeber, who switched to GetResponse. A lot of his emails weren't getting sent and wasn't reaching his audience, so he switched over to GetResponse and that all changed for him.

MailChimp is another solution to email marketing and it's a free resource, although there is obviously a paid option available. If you're just looking to build specific niche marketing lists or want to send newsletters, MailChimp would work fine for you. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's not really for internet marketers because they're not a fan of blasting out affiliate offers and recommendations of anything of the sort. MailChimp is not ideal for online marketers, unlike GetResponse who promote affiliates to join their network.

Another option is Infusionsoft. It's a more robust service with a lot of features, but it does cost a little bit more money than GetResponse. It allows you to do a lot more in comparison to a lot of autoresponders out there, so if you're far into your business and it's extremely successful, you might want to look into Infustionsoft. As I mentioned it is more expensive and has a much steeper learning curve than GetResponse.

I've been spending months and months looking for an ideal solution for my business and then I bumped into GetResponse and found my solution. I'm more of a visual person and I like it when things work well as well as they and GetResponse not only meets that expectation, they exceed it with their new layout. It's very intuitive and jam-packed with features. They even have a learning center with tons and tons of video tutorials and live webinars to get a sense of how everything works with your account before you even sign up. As far as pricing is concerned, it actually beats AWeber. As mentioned above, you can try AWeber for $1, but you can try GetResponse for free for the first 30 days, no credit card needed! You can get up to 1,000 subscribers for only $15.00/month. GetResponse is extremely transparent, with no hidden fees, which I really like. I highly recommend using GetResponse to anyone wanting to start an online business or anyone that already has one because they provide a great service and especially cater to internet marketers, which is awesome.

I really want to talk to you about why I made the switch from AWeber to GetResponse. Here's the deal - I used AWeber for years, built up a list of tons of thousands of subscribers and it was a good situation. Most of the time they delivered my emails without them going to spam and things like that. I learned how to do all the automation rules and how to set up different lists in order to get the job done. I noticed more and more a couple of things I didn't like were happening:

My emails weren't getting the open and click through rates that I was hoping for and I used to get. Although my list was growing, my reach and influence to get people to open my emails wasn't happening at the same rate.

Technology wise, GetResponse was starting to surpass AWeber. They have a much better phone app, which means when I'm on the road and want to use my IPhone, I can whip my cell out, create a good looking newsletter and send it out to my audience. This is very convenient when I want to travel or want to send out emails when I'm not in the office.

A few other reasons why I think GetResponse is better than AWeber is the new features they've added. Their time machine features allows you to send out an email at a specific time, on a specific date, no matter what time-zone your subscribers are in. Let's say you want to send out a freebie offer at 9am on Monday morning. Well your east coast and west coast subscribers all get that email at 9am, their time!

That's pretty cool if you ask me. This is a big deal if you have time sensitive or time relevant things you need to send out. I also found out that the click through and deliverability rate for GetResponse has only improved over time, when AWeber's has remained stagnant or gone down. I don't want to sound like I'm bashing AWeber, it's still a good service if you have it, but I just felt by comparing the two side by side, GetResponse had better options, their pricing was better and the deal breaker for me with AWeber was how they track the number of subscribers you have. According to AWeber I had approximately 3x the size of my list because of duplicates - some people would opt into more than one list for different offers. AWeber was charging me 3x the price, when I simply had some of the same people with the same email address. GetResponse does not do this. They have so many new features that I haven't even touched yet and I'm already sold on their service. Try it out today for free and see why it's the best email marketing tool out there for the price they give you.

I'm in the Get Response camp, too.
I like them better than Aweber.
Their user interface is certainly more intuitive.

Support is great.
One thing they could stand to improve is their
HTML editor. It can get a little buggy sometimes.

Deliverability is excellent. People like to argue about it but Aweber and GR, when the chips are down, are pretty close to each other when deliverability is concerned.

Actually they do from what I understand, but they make it easier to move subscribers around different lists.

I switched from AWeber to GetResponse and I'm not very happy. Initially it looked awesome, but then in the details,...? Ohh my!

Mess, bugs everywhere, and many basic features are missing. At this moment I'm in between. GR seems to have more features but tons of bugs. AW is more stable and support is much better but they don't even offer a Landing Page service.

In general GR would be great if they would fix bugs and be more responsive to the users reporting. within last 3 months I created about 50 tickets, while with AWeber about 20 within 2 years.

Please stop all the HYPE about GetResponse. They are not as good as one might think, although I cannot say worthless.

Getresponse... Worst customer service! My issue was so simple to resolve. I signed ed up for the wrong account and not even 5 minutes after the payment went through I emailed and asked for a refund. Then I canceled the account to show them that I wasn't trying to use their services at all and wanted a refund. Not only did they cancel the paid account with 29 days and 23 hours 55 minutes left they canceled my FREE trial which had 8 days left. They took the money for the month and refuse to give me a refund! Why is it so hard to do what is right? They took payment and gave me nothing. STAY AWAY FROM ANY COMPANY THAT HIDES BEHIND A REFUND POLICY. HOW CAN THEY KEEP SOMETHING THEY KNOW THEY DIDN'T EARN! CRIMINALS

Good opinions and bad opinions about everything.

I was using aweber and was very happy with.

Now I use Getresponse and I am also Ok.

Both are good and both have some problems.

The money we give, for the services we take, worth it.

If you can find autoresponders with low cost and NO problems at all we ALL will be very excited to hear. Till then, keep on the great work.

Hmm.....I can clearly see some haters here.

Get response might not be the best but is it a rip off? These annoying posts from no body seemed to be the reputation destroyer (competitor flagger) team from some other auto responder company. Well, guys if you're going to do it then at least do it right. Hire someone who'll gain some trust and would look real....

Post count 3 OR 1 makes no sense.

I would love to learn what reputed warriors have to say in this regard.

... All I can say is they screwed me, and as for a reputation damager... I can live with that!

Get response took me for a ride, that is why I lodged it with "The RipOff Report" as well as for slamming them on this post/thread.

As for being a competitor... I own Website Hosting Companies, so you were way off the mark there!

We are pretty much all real people here, who are entitled to voice our opinions...

Luckily for me I took screen shots of the emails they sent me, and posted them with my complaint on the ripoff report website... Thus why I included the links in my earlier post.

I think I'll stay away from Get Response, better safe then sorry. There are other options available so why take the risk. Although I do believe that smna1586 has a good point too.
