If you're thinking about getting a website theme, especially a blogging theme, then this article is definitely for you. In this article I'm going to be talking about the website service ThemeForest and the services they offer. ThemeForest is a website that is tailored specific to website themes. It allows you to search for and purchase a premium theme for a website. They have themes for the bigger blogging platforms such as WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal to name a few and also the smaller ones with simple HTML codes. ThemeForest is owned and operated by a company called Envato. Envato has multiple marketplaces and ThemeForest is just one of them that allow you to get something specifically for creating websites.

When you get into the ThemeForest website you can start browsing for themes by searching, looking through categories or even themes specifically made for whichever platform your site is based on, whether it be WordPress or Joomla, etc. Once you get into a category, the themes are separated into further categories – business, nonprofit, entertainment, etc.

All the themes on ThemeForest are premium themes, so you do have to purchase them. They range anywhere from $5.00 - $47. You're not only paying for the theme itself. ThemeForest has an awesome community of people who are developers who help and assist people who are using the themes and creating websites. When you purchase the theme, you don't only get the support of the developer who created it, but you also get the support of the ThemeForest community.

Every theme on ThemeForest is created by an outside developer or a freelancer who submitted their theme to the website. ThemeForest goes over, in detail the themes to check out if they meet a specific guideline. Not only do the developers have to build a theme, they have to meet specific requirements, documentation, create screen casts, and make sure that they're available to help you use that theme. I'm actually a user of a theme from ThemeForest and I thought it was amazing how simple it was to get help. I didn't even have to contact support because the developer who created the theme laid it out so simply with screen casts that I followed. ThemeForest does a really good job of making sure that there are guidelines to follow. The developers are giving you the correct documentation to actually use and change up the themes you purchase with them. It's great to have the developer of your theme and the ThemeForest community to help you through setting up your website the way you want it. I highly recommend ThemeForest to everyone. Today I want to briefly talk about how you can find the best themes for your website from ThemeForest. Once you’re on their website, you’ll see that ThemeForest offers themes for multiple platforms and CMS types. Let’s say you’re looking for a theme for your WordPress site. You’d click on the WordPress button on the top of the page and it’ll take you to all the WordPress themes available. You can break down your search into categories listed on the right side panel. I’m going to go over a few ways you can really protect yourself and find the best theme for your website on ThemeForest.

Once you narrow your search down into categories, you can narrow it down even further into sub-categories. You’ll notice that there are hundreds of themes in most categories, so you’ll want to know some practices to narrow it down further. With ThemeForest, I always start by recognizing how many stars each theme has. This means other users, like yourself have purchased this theme and rated it highly. If you scroll your mouse over the thumbnail image preview of the themes, you’ll be able to see what that theme looks like. Once you find a theme you like, you simply click on it and take a closer look at what the theme looks like. You can scroll down and read some of the features that the developer has built into that theme. A few other things you want to pay attention to is how many purchases it has, the rating it has, and what platforms it’s compatible with. Let’s say the theme you choose is compatible for WordPress 3.5. You have to make sure that you have the same version of WordPress installed. With ThemeForest you can also check out compatible browsers, so that the theme works for all the browsers important to you.

Another great tip for finding the right theme on ThemeForest is you’ll want to note is to press the live preview button and see what this theme looks like when it’s functioning live. If you are in the web design business, and are looking for some fresh BUSINESS themes (not blogs or your run-of-the-mill themes from Template Monster) then this site may be what you have been looking for. The quality and price of their themes are outstanding.

I'm a designer, and I like to look at these themes for ideas because some of the best wordpress designers submit themes there. But if you don't want to mess with custom coding a theme for your clients, then this would be a great site to pick up some ready made templates.

You can just show the method on your site directly and those people which liked your style, they will obviously love you and start following you. I think email marketing is not good this way.

Themeforest themes can only be used for a single domain. So if you are building multiple sites, you are required to purchase a license over and over again.

I'd rather pay double the standard license if I can use a good solid theme on multiple domains. I'd even be prepared to pay a small annual fee for support and upgrades, but ONLY if the theme is REALLY good, kept up to date proactively and supported well.

I am yet to find a good provider though...most themes only look good in the live DEMO site...and when you want your site to look similar, they tell you they made CSS edits that were not mentioned in the sales page...
