| Have you ever been surfing the internet and realize you're seeing ads from websites that you've recently been? That's called retargeting. When a visitor lands on your website a cookie is placed on their computer. The cookie enables you to continue advertising to that website visitor after they've left your website. Retargeting advertisements are designed to bring potential patients back to your website again to complete the desired action. How does retargeting actually work? Retargeting marketing is a type of advertising that follows website visitors around the internet after they've left the website. For many websites, about 2% of inbound traffic converts or in other words, completes a desired action on the first visit. Retargeting works to bring the other 98% visitors back to the website. It's effective because it focuses an advertising budget on recent website visitors. Retargeting is so effective because it targets those online users who are already familiar with your practice and have shown interest in your services. Retargeting can be best explained with a hypothetical example. Let's say you know that you're due for an annual dental clean and you spend some time browsing various dental websites, looking at their services, but you leave the site before requesting for an appointment. After leaving a particular site, you continue to surf the internet and you see the ad for one of the specific practices you visit on another website. The ads invite you to return to that specific dentist's website. This is a typical example of a retargeting experience. When people are looking for products and services online, they often visit many different websites before making a decision. In fact, 95% of visitors leave a website without taking any kind of action. If you're able to get a consumer to come back to your website a second time, they're 70% more likely to become a customer. Retargeting keeps your business top of mind with customers who've previously shown interest in your company. Retargeting allows you to keep your hottest prospects coming back to your site, thus maximizing your investment. You can save a lot of time, money and effort by retargeting traffic back to your site. I highly recommend everyone to retarget their potential customers. It will dramatically boost sales and it won't break the bank! |

Do you want to start reducing your third party lead costs? Do you want to block competitor's ads? Do you want customers coming back and your conversions going up? Well I'm going to tell you how to do all that in this article. There's been a lot of talk and buzz about retargeting, also called remarketing, behavioral marketing, and IP advertising. Should you be retargeting? Most definitely! I've had a lot of people asking me questions, so I really wanted to do an article and give you some detail on what exactly is retargeting and why you need to utilize it. Let's start off with an example. An individual visits your website, is checking out one of your products and then leaves their computer because they get distracted. When they get back on the web, they go on another website and see your ad on the site they're at. This is retargeting. When they visit your website, their IP address is tracked; a cookie is placed and wherever your visitor goes on the web, they'll see your ad. You can set up a retargeting campaign where you're paying for performance or impressions. Just assume for a moment that you 1000 visitors visit your site within a given week and only 5% of those visitors convert to a lead. The other 95% leave your website to maybe return. With retargeting you can start to present ads to that 95%. This way you can block competitor ads. This is how you create top of mind awareness. These are some questions I've been asked frequently about retargeting:
With retargeting your conversion rates can go up from 25-200%. Hope this helps you out. Happy retargeting! |
