There are some disadvantages of doing business with personal profiles rather than fan pages

1. You cannot run facebook offers from personal profile.

2. Personal profiles do not look professional.

3. There is limit to 5000 likes on personal profiles.

4. In fan pages anybody can tag to your fanpage unlike personal profile where only friends can do it.

5. Your personal privacy is safeguarded.

6. Facebook analytics data is not available to personal profiles

.

Therefore it is advisable to use fan pages to create brands.
