My post was removed because "Link drops not allowed in the discussion areas."

What is a link drop? The post directly above mine has a link in it and yet it is still there.

I have since remedied the issues and placed my message in my signature file.

    A link drop is a link to an external site. Generally they aren't allowed but sometimes they slip through the cracks.

    A link to a well known, non-promotional site like CNN.com or Wikipedia.org would probably be okay but otherwise probably not. There is some room for judgment on the part of the moderators in this.

    Yes, someone having a link in their body text, going to their site or an affiliate site is usually a slam dunk for being deleted.

    As other members have to pay for a sig, link for their site, and a graphic sig, link for an affiliate site.
