I paid the $20 WSO fee earlier today. I just paid an additional $37 to keep my membership here.

Can I get a refund for my WSO payment as it is no longer neccesary to post if I pay the $37 for WSO membership?

Thanks

The way I've done it I've made sure that those needing a hand up can still get it. They can still browse the forum freely without paying a dime for anything.

As one of the most frequent WSO posters (I've sent Allen around $1,500 in WSO fees over the last year), all I can say is THANK YOU!!

This is a HUGE step in the right direction. The WarriorForum is all about high quality information. We don't want it to become the next DP.

I'll be joining as a full member!

See above. Per Allen's last post, the fee still applies. The $37 makes you a member and gives you the ability to post a WSO. Nonmembers can no longer post a WSO.

The WSO fee still applies. This is just to help cut down on the number of them and the useless posts that resulted from the 30 posts rule.

Awesome move!

Shoot, I had to pay to get in here many moons ago when us IM pioneers still had to walk up hill both ways in the snow to get down the hall to our home offices.

Then I happily paid again to get into the war room. I think this is a good move, although, I would vote for a price increase for the upgrade.

Talk soon,

Shannon

This is one of the most valuable forums I've come across. I joined the War Room about a week after joining the site. What I've learned here in about a month is worth its weight in gold. The price for membership is well worth it. Specially if it will help rid of spam.

thanks for the clarification.

I've been curious about the war room for awhile now. I'll join as soon as i hit 57$ in paypal lol

and i agree...i wouldn't want to see WF turn into DP..

Joe118 31st August 2009 09:50 PM

Re: Warrior Forum Going Back To Paid Status

I also believe this wont work. $57 or $20 is peanuts for spammers. And its a proven thing that you will make that money back even if your WSO is a total abysmal failure. This measly amount is not going to do it for spammers.

If you want to keep the spammers out simply BAN them, ban their IP addresses, require an extensive trial period (300 posts + 100 thanks + 100 days). Anything. Time investment and effort to get full rights here are much more effective detterents.

That said, I think that cleaning up WF is a great idea, and now that I looked I realize that the war room is only $37, so I'm kicking myself for not buying in earlier. How stupid of me :) I'll be signing up right after I post this.

That is Awesome Bob! Just goes to show that the people
here at the WF really do CARE about the newbies making
an attempt.

It also proves that not ALL lawyers are heartless.

I've been dragging my feet on joining the War Room myself,
mainly because I bought into the Mind Warriors when Allen
first created it only to see it be opened up as a free forum
too.

Doesn't look like that's going to happen with the War Room
now though, so I guess I'll have to bite the bullet soon as I
get a chance.

Superb.

This place was on its way to becoming "DP lite" and that's no fault of the great members here...it's just when a good thing comes along there's always someone who will exploit it.

Hopefully this will only increase the caliber of members here.

Excellent decision Allen, I love it... I hope free members can't also post in the main forum and can't use signature because sometimes many are using the main forum to spam or promote their own business.

Re: Warrior Forum Going Back To Paid Status

Allen,
Just the kick in the butt some of us needed to get into the war room. The forum itself is so full of information its tough for people to digest, little lown implement and take action. I agree with an above post.

Making so many thanks and posts a requirement too post WSO would be a huge benefit. It is almost impossible for someone to get thanks unless its of good value, Free or paid. I for one would love to see that implemented. So many warriors are experts in specific fields and areas, and that diversity is what makes this forum such a valuable place. I for one, like to contribute, but oh how i appreciate it when i have a techie question and someone in the forum can answer in it minutes.

Please take my vote to install the thanks platform. If that count needs to be 100 i am all for it, even though i have only 48 or somewhere near that. I think that would really clean up the WSO section, and i buy an awful lot of WSO'S.

Thanks again...For your commitment to keeping this forum strong and not DP light.
Regards,
Robert Nelson

You guys do not know how much you have just helped me. You see now I get to kill 2 birds with one stone. I wanted to join the War Room but couldn't afford it. Greg Jacobs 31st August 2009 10:32 PM

Re: Warrior Forum Going Back To Paid Status

but really this is excellent. also lately the warroom has seemed to become a rehashed *free version of WSOs. Maybe we can clean that up too and leave it as a place for quality discussions and original thoughts, as I (not sure about others) find value in a private place to engage in intelligent discussions and new strategies rather than a place where I can pick up whatever WSO's or whatever report for free.

especially since the membership will increaes it will be nice to really focus in the purpose of the warroom. this may mean less approved posts at first, however in the long run the quality posters will really start to come out of the woodwork as they see that their posts will not be bordered on both sides, by a ***FREE!!!!!*** WSO

I was not aware of the War Room until a few days ago, even though I have been hanging out here for several years. I was going to join anyway as soon as I had some free time to check out the material inside the War Room.

I just hope this will lead to a much better WSO section by forcing out those that are making outrageous, unprovable claims that are junking up the offers lately.

I also hope it does not dilute the quality of the War Room.

Good move.

Hey Allen,

I've been meaning to join the war room for some time now and this is great incentive for me, it was just something I always was going to get round to and now I will.

What you offer is worth way more than you're charging considering how much value and knowledge we get from this forum.

I also know that what you decide will only make this forum better for all.

I'm ever grateful.

Sincerely,

Charann.

I completely respect, understand, and appreciate where you are coming from. This is not a bad price to have the ability to still run good WSO's, setup a good blog, etc. It is well worth every penny. Thanks Allen.

Thanks Allen,

I have been very disappointed in the WSO's I have purchased lately and in the Warrior Classified section. I always come here first when I need anything for my marketing and appreciate your efforts in keeping the quality high.

Thanks for keeping the forum going for all of us. I hope all the members here realize how valuable this place can be for their business.

I look forward to the new changes.

This is a great decision Allen. Congrats!
Also, I second Kevin's views- if you're serious about your IM business and treat it like any other business, investing $37 should not be a problem.

Just upgraded myself and I am sure, it's one of the best decisions I have taken.

Allen,I am definitely going to tell my warrior friends to upgrade and enjoy the very best of warrior forum.

We're with you in making this place number one forum for every IMer.

Can't thank you enough and the entire WF troupe.

Sincerely,

Now, here's a decision that makes me happy.

Thank You, Thank you.

So now we can finally cut down on the lame spammy WSO's.

And only the serious folk can ploay with WSO's. And this also means that everyone has a chance to be mentored by yourself in the sub forum, eh?

But, I still have a question for you Allen.

When you say PM restrictions are gone, do you mean 5 mins between consecutive PM's is also gone? HOw does that work?

-Lakshay

A very good, smart move, and greatly appreciated.

Can't tell you how disheartening it's been lately - spend hours posting purely educational 'give-back' threads, answer questions, etc., while having to wade through heaps of worthless, useless spam posts.

I had also pretty much stopped even browsing the WSO board, and I used to buy one or two each week.

BTW, I'll be the one to say it: it's interesting that what so many 'marketers' teach here, and the best-selling WSO is about, is the same thing the most of us abhor so much on forums we care about and are vested in.

And how many who are applauding this have also posted mucho 'advice' on the strategy of using forum sigs & blogs purely for backlinking...:)

I'm serious about IM, but why make it a paid option? I can't pay RM130, yet.

This is so frustrating and depressing...

EDIT: What is the full access? What do I have access now without paying?

Also, reading all the "happy" comments that say "You should pay the money because this is a good forum and you should treat IM like a business...", well not quite. It is cheap to you, but not me. I treat this seriously, but money/currency/credit card is a problem for me.

Remember currency conversion also works the other way round - while buying things may be more "expensive" when some currencies are converted, it also means that you can also make a living much easier than someone from the US.

So while the $37 may be expensive for you, the first $37 you make with your online business is also going to be worth a lot more.

And when we look at our businesses, the aim is to make more money than we spend, and so your currency conversion will actually work in your favour.

I hope this reply is more of an inspiration to pursue your online business, because with your currency conversion, you've got a LOT you can make!

cheers

Funny thing is that I did not even notice this notice... and just today I paid for one of my associates to join the war room and I convinced a second to upgrade...

Both because I wanted both to see just one valuable thread in the war room.

Anyone who is blind enough to not realize the sheer value of becoming a paid member should hang up their hat because they will never have the sense to make it in online business.
