Hi

Will warriorforum.com be a separate forum or will it be completely merged into freelancer.com and warrior forum won't exist from now on?

Sorry if this sounded silly

thanks

I saw this community changing through all these years, it continues to attract more people interested in IM, and it's still my favorite forum.
I think Freelancer.com can bring a lot of potential, I'm here to help.

I have 15+ years of experience & millions of visitors (I'm also a warrior since 2002)!
NunoAlex.com explains how I can help.
I'm looking for a limited number of serious partners.

Such a great move Allen.

Warrior Forum had been the key player is many internet marketers' lives.

Associating with Freelancer.com will further propel it's social status.

Thanks for taking the right decision.

I wonder how the two will jam together? Isnt both strategically different communities. One is marketplace for freelancers and other is Internet marketing digital product marketplace.

I wonder does this acquisition will effect our main forum in any way?

Wow! Great News!
I love the idea of this partnership and I believe that Freelancer.com can help this forum more to grow with new features.
About the prices for WSO, I also agree that the main issue is not the price, but the quality of WSO products! There are too much of crappy products in WSO section

One way to improve the quality of WSOs is to have some way for WSO buyers to
*RATE THE SELLERs* in a permanent way.

As it is, sellers can just pull up the WSO ATM, grab cash out of it, using crappy,
quasi-FRAUDULENT offers -- then they know they can get away scott free. Then they go into hiding, until the heat blows over -- then they return when the coast is clear, and rinse and repeat -- all the while knowing they will get away with it.

There needs to be a way of RATING the sellers.

I didn't want to comment until I actually had something to base comments on. Just spent some time on the phone with Alaister, and was suitably impressed.

My thoughts on this...

First, Freelancer has the technical staff and experience to scale up and optimize hardware in ways that could reduce or eliminate a lot of the server and database issues that have caused intermittent access problems for a while. That is, by itself, a huge potential benefit.

His experience in dealing with buyers and sellers through Freelancer translates directly to a lot of the challenges of setting policy and moderating in marketplaces like the for sale sections of this forum. It would be very hard to overstate the value of that.

For the folks who were worried about heavy-handed changes... I don't see that. At all. Despite the occasional mentions of his relatively low post count, he "gets" the culture and standards here.

Some things will almost certainly change, and that's appropriate. New owners can make new rules, after all. I don't see anything in the works, though, that's anything but good for the members.

A couple of reminders... The idea of a ratings system for WSOs still faces the same hard problem it always has: Limiting access to only those people who've actually bought the products they're rating. The forum is still not a party to those transactions, so there is currently no way to verify who bought what product.

Without that capability, any ratings system could be too easily gamed.

Also, the notion that the price of listing a WSO has any impact on quality of offerings is not, and never has been, accurate. That's been discussed to death for as long as the forum has charged for WSO listings, and it's been pretty well demonstrated that it's not a factor.

Some things will probably change, and a lot won't. Be patient with both possibilities.

Congratulations! The WF was one of the first places I started to learn about this crazy world all those years ago and I had my first success by launching a WSO on here as well! Unfortunately I have also seen it go a little bit downhill recently with a lot of people coming on here to just complain but there are still some golden nuggets of information to be found.

I hope the guys at Freelancer.com can bring back some of the magic that was here when I first joined.

Congratulations to Allen and the team over at Freelancer.com, looking forward to seeing how things develop from here!

Thanks for your Post Paul

I'm sure like me for many other warriors comments from your end is much more reassuring than Alaister whom hardly anyone knows about (no offense, just stating the fact as it is).

Whatever the changes are, I hope it is best for the community including the buyers and sellers of "for sale" sections of this forum.

Can't believe that Warriorforum values only 3.2 million USD. How could you have sell it for that amount?

Great things can only happen when two excellent communities come together. I am looking forward to witnessing it.

Nice work Allen and congratulations on closing the deal.

Freelancer picked up a pretty good deal at just over $3 mill,
but Matt Barrie is a pretty savvy dealmaker.

Glad to see W.F joining a great stable of Australian based businesses.

This is good news that both the two Big Names became one.
I wish to see both communities grow further and keep all the good things moving forward.

I knew that something big had to be happening when I received the first broadcast email from Allen since I don't know when. That fact alone demonstrates how the owner of "the world's largest internet marketing forum" has always resisted exploiting the members for his own immediate gain. How many marketers would have been able to leave such a huge and targeted list relatively untouched during all this time?

The changes that have been made to this forum, at least from my own point of view, have always been made with the overall benefit of the members in mind - and I trust Allen to have made the best possible arrangement for the future of the forum, and its members, with this deal.

So, congrats, Allen, of course. But more than that, thanks for looking out for us all these years. And good luck with whatever you plan to do now.

Wow, I'm impressed. I always knew that some day Allan would turn the reigns over to someone else as one of the chief things I've learned in business is to always be thinking of an exit plan. Congrats Allan on making yours.

That said I'm excited to hear the news. The WF has been the main vehicle for my success online since I joined back in 2007. I love this community and look forward to seeing it grow even more now that the userbase could possibly expand tremendously.

Again congrats Allan and thank you for diligence throughout the years. This forum is and always will be the greatest.
