Input desired on series of e-lessons, joint venture idea...

Hi everyone,

I have been working toward a joint venture idea that was suggested to me on another internet marketing forum and am interested in getting more input on it's viability before proceeding much further with it (at least as a joint venture idea).

I am being sincere in this and am not just trying to subtly promote a joint venture idea to all the marketers that may read this here.

Here's the basic idea.

I have created some PHP object oriented code that allows me to quickly and easily create web sites for myself. The hardest part is creating header and footer graphics but once that is out of the way the rest is an absolute breeze for me.

I want to help others do the same. Using the same code I use for myself.

No need to learn Wordpress or use anything of the sort. Simpler than Wordpress. Much more secure than Wordpress. Something I can quickly teach anyone to use.

I will create a series of e-lessons centered around how to do what I do with my code and make it available to one or more internet marketers to hand out as free lessons to their subscribers.

I'm talking high quality, exceptional content lessons geared to helping newbies build web sites quickly in 13 steps type of thing.

Assuming they have a header and a footer graphic already. If not I can provide lessons on how to do that as a seperate e-lesson series. Or they can use something like XHeader (I haven't used this program since I use Linux not Windows).

I would make my money on the back end by offering additional e-classes directly through my web site to visitors that come visit or by offering other backend products of my own making related to web development.

The code itself, which would be needed to implement my approach to web building, I am not sure how to work it in to this joint venture idea.

It could be sold through the first batch of e-lessons with the profits split with the internet marketers. I could sell it entirely on my own. Don't know.

The code comes with a very liberal use policy. A very liberal use policy.

So the other consideration is that under my present use policy...once someone gets the code on a subscriber list they are basically free to share it with others without needing to buy anything else from me.

Maybe my use policy is too liberal. Maybe I just need to give away the code and allow to spread virally.

Don't know.

Any input on the above would be most appreciated.

I can post a brief on what these 13 lessons might entail if that is desirable.

The nice thing about these lessons is that they are tied to using my code. In other words the are pretty useless to anyone not having my code. The code is not provided through the lessons but they are an integral part of them.

Thanks.

Carlos

    Hey Carlos,

Nice website - why do you use a moving submenu? It looks a little like how a pop up
    works.

As far as giving away your code. I would personally give away a report on the steps to using the code and then sell the coding in a package form later on. Hope this helps.

      Hi Colin,

Thanks for giving me some input on this Colin. Much appreciated.

I am kinda surprised that no regulars at this forum have given me input on this. I mean I would have thought the phrase "joint venture" to internet marketers would have been a bit like light to a moth or candy to a starving sweet tooth but maybe not .

      More comments below yours...

Interesting observation. I had someone else tell me it looks unprofessional yesterday so I've decided to remove it. Not there yet as the next revision of my web site is not quite ready yet but I will upload it soon.

I originally did the floating menu to fill up the navigation bar on the left since others had commented on how empty it looked without something there LOL.

Yeah...that may be the way I go. Not sure.

There are so many possibilities that I could do with this.

Free lessons given to an internet marketer with free source code to gain traffic to my site through the inclusion of a simple credit link to my web site.

Free lessons to anyone and everyone off the search engines tied to selling the underlying source code that makes it possible. Straight through my web site.

An e-book of lessons with free source code again with credit link to my web site. Given away freely.

A rebrandable PLR (private label rights) type ebook that could hopefully spread virally.

Perhaps I could even create an open source project to meet untapped demand for something easier, much easier to use than WordPress calling it something like Simple Website Made Easily (SWME). Pronounced sorta like Swamee. Hmm...could be big folks!

And anyone getting on this with me would be (dare I use such a worn out phrase?) getting in on the ground floor!

      All kinds of possibility.

I sure hope others pipe up and give me input as I am a bit lost as which alternative is best.

I think there is a need on building web sites quickly and efficiently in a way that does not involve WordPress. WordPress uses MySQL. There is no need to use MySQL. If any options need to be saved they can be saved in a plain text file. It's more secure that way. No possibility of MySQL injection attacks or other MySQL related hacks. Less server resources.

WordPress copyright issues. All theme source code is legally considered a derivative of WordPress and must be licensed under the same terms as WordPress which means that practically you are not free to do with your source code what you might want to do with it.

WordPress bloat and complexity for creating a simple web site. Using WordPress entails not only installing it and learning how to use it but also keeping up to date with updates so as to hopefully avoid security holes that crop up in it's use. That alone is a major undertaking for many people who are not computer literate or web savy about such things. The more complex the code the more likely you will introduce something into your web site that was unintended.

I guess what I am saying is that there is absolutely no need for WordPress for the kinds of sites that many internet marketers want to build. Small, simple, fast, efficient web sites that are easy to maintain and change.

Where the content is kept in plain text files (with some limited HTML in them) and read by my PHP programs to generate web pages automatically.

What could be easier and more user friendly than opening up your favorite text editor, chaning the words on a web page, saving the changes and uploading to a web host?

Much easier than trying to make such changes through WordPress and trying to keep up with updating and otherwise fiddling with WordPress if you ask me.

Anyway I would love to get more input from any internet marketers here who see this and might be inclined to see the candy element of what I am suggesting.

I am web developer who knows his stuff looking for ideas from internet marketers about creating a win/win joint venture opportunity. That sounds like candy to me LOL.
