What is the best way to get JV partners?

We are launching a new product called "The Debt Solution System" and I am not sure how to get JV partners/affiliates to help us promote the product.

I know building relationships is the most important part of this process but are there any websites that make this easier? How did you get your first JV partner/affiliate?

This is our first product launch so any advice would be great

Thanks,

Brandon

Getting JV partners is not as easy as everyone might think. The big boys are not interested unless your product is of extreme quality and value. Placing your product on Clickbank will make it easier for you to promote to affiliates. Finding affiliates on this forum should not be too difficult either! All the best!

Even if your product offers extreme value and quality does not mean the "big boys" will promote. It starts with building relationships which involves getting on the phone and attending events. It also starts with a SELFLESS approach and trying to offer value to others before asking them to promote for you.

Simply placing an offer on clickbank is not the magic bullet either. You need to have producing affiliates on board in order to get the sales coming in so that your clickbank gravity get's high enough to pull your product out of the clickbank abyss of zero or low gravity products...

Finding affiliates on this forum is not that easy either...that being said...there are a good bit here that can really help make a difference. But it is important to revert back to my original statement....it takes building strong relationships and that can take time.

There are "thousands" of affiliates but finding the ones that can make a difference is hard.

If you are rolling out a product for the first time and have limited contacts then the #1 priority IS to ensure that your product offers extreme value, is not cookie cutter and done right. Find a few key people and start building relationships...from there it's all down hill.

A great way to get some initial buzz is through a WSO. There are many affiliates that buy WSO's (even some of the GURU's) and you never know when you will get a pm from a Well Known Someone who will come to you and ask to promote (yes it does happen).

At the end of the day...the best thing to do is to effectively network and build relationships ...and understand that there is no magic bullet.

Proper research, product creation and networking is what it all comes down to.

From there you need to ensure that you have your launch schedule clearly spelled out.

The items you need to effectively recruit affiliates are
A Clear picture of the product the offer and the launch sequence

      1. A JV Invite Page / Affiliate Overview
----This should include Your Launch Day, Product Price, What the commission break down is and what the affiliate will earn

      2. Your sales page needs to be completed
      3. Any and all of your pre-launch landing (squeeze pages need to be completed)
      4. You need to ensure you have your affiliate platform ready to go if you are not going with Clickbank.

      5. It is EXTREMELY important to have stats ...this is where a WSO is great because not only is it a great buzz builder but can provide important metrics that can be tweaked for better conversions.

      6. You need to ensure you have creatives in place for affiliates to use to be able to promote with..these are things such as a few banners, email copies, sample articles etc.

There is a bunch more ....but that is a 40,000 ft view.

But here is the kicker...and the most overlooked component
You need to know how to write emails that get affiliates fired up and you need to know
the frequency in which to mail affiliates during a launch sequence.

I have seen countess launches where there are over 1,000 affilaites on board and the launch flops. This is even with strong conversions on the sales page.

The reason for this is that the affiliates are not provided direction and there is no real plan in place on the product creators side.

You need to provide swipe copy within your email to the affiliate that they can copy, paste, tweak and mail out to their list. AND YOU MUST INCLUDE THEIR AFFILIATE LINK IN THE SWIPE COPY.

None of this "Insert Affiliate Link Here" crap. It needs to be painless and easy for them. Otherwise astalavista....on to the next one.

I could go on for about 10 more pages but have to run! Hope some of this helps!

      Good Luck!

      All the best

I find the easiest way is to offer something in return i.e you promote their product or add it your thankyou page etc..

Offer them something which makes it worthwhile to them!

Wow! what a reply. Thanks so much Sean.

I knew if would not necessarily be easy. If it was everybody would be doing it. It seems just like a regular offline business. You need to get some contacts and a track record, once that happens it gets much easier.

        Thanks again Sean

Another way to get people to promote you is to offer unique high quality content for them to use on their blogs (videos, audios, and articles). I recently did a Blog Tour and was able to get in front of a TON of targeted leads over the course of 15 weeks. Yes, it was work, but, I'll earn money forever on it.

    Hope it helps!

      Thanks Nicole,

I'm not afraid of work. Thanks for the tip. So what do you mean by a blog tour. A different blog every week/day/month?

      Thanks

A blog tour is typically when you ask to guest blog for a bunch of people within your niche.

I'm not sure if that is what she meant though...

It's a very cool way to quickly build a reputation

I m a beginner as well I have small listing. I would trade but it would have to be something related to Traffic Exchange site.
I think you should do is build up your name list then when it reach a small amount then I think you will be able to promote.
One thing I am learning is if you want to JV prove that your product make money.
after all bottom line is money

    Thank you

well said - but proving you make money isn't that easy -anyone can fake a screen shot of earnings - perhaps building a reputation is more important.

It is really not that difficult and just a two step process.
Step 1: Decide what exactly you will need from your new JV partner - you would like them to contribute to your project, so what resources and expertise can they offer?
Step 2: Once you have identified someone you believe will be the correct person to partner with you, approach them in a proper manner, as they have probably been approached before and know what you expect from them. This should be done in a professional manner.
Start with a simple web search related to your product!
    Use forums to your advantage.
Ezine articles will guide you to product owners.
Find newsletters on your chosen subject.
Remember to look at ads in trade magazines.
A good prospect may be found on banner advertisements.
Events and seminars are great places where to meet people and find a JV partner.

    Hi Brandon,

The most important thing you can do, is get on the phone!

No one ever calls potential jv partners.
I do this all the time and the response is phenomenal.
Of course you need to have something to offer, but the phone will make you stand out from the crowd.

Just keep working at the relationships.

Regardless of which way you approach it it still takes time as most JV's are seeking some level of provable ability to do what you say you are going to do.

      Regards
