Hello Affiliate Warriors.

Following you will find:
  • Affiliate details of my new product, Stop Running Pain
  • Request for help, make an easy $5
  • Launch Promotion - win a trip!

Affiliate Details for Stop Running Pain

I joined Warrior Forum at the beginning of this year to help motivate me to create my first product. Although it took longer than expected, it is just about ready to launch. The product is now with ClickBank for approval and my scheduled launch date is a week from now on Monday, March, 29, 2010. That is when I will begin promoting, but ClickBank should approve me later this week.

NOTE: Up until this past weekend, the landing page was text only, no video. That page converted at less than 2% (people clicking the buy now button). I swapped that page with the page that is now up containing video. I do not yet have any data with the video.

YES! The video will be replaced with something more professionally produced by the end of this week.

Request for Help - Make $5

Since this is my first product. I'm still tweaking everything. So, here's how to make a quick and easy $5.
  1. Take a look at my sales page and/or affiliate page
  2. Think of one (or more) ways it could be improved
  3. Post your resonable suggestion(s) for improvement here (that way, everyone, not just me, can learn)
  4. Example of a suggestion that is NOT reasonable "Hire a copywriter"
  5. If I implement the suggestion, I'll send you $5 via PaPal (I'll post here if/when I implement your suggestion), only one payment per person, regardless of how many suggestions
  6. Since I'm pretty broke after spending so much getting to this point, I'll cap this at 15 people

Stop Running Pain - Launch Promotion

This promotion is only available to affiliates via Warrior Forum by the fact that instructions are only available here. This is a very simple promotion, the more you sell, the larger the prize you win. There is no first, second, third place, etc. Everyone has the potential to win the top prize. 10 Sales: Amazon $50 Gift Certificate
50 Sales: Flip HD Camera
100 Sales: Celestron SkyScout Personal Planetarium (Google this, it is VERY cool)
250 Sales: Apple iPad (3G version)
500 Sales: Exciting Trip

Those of you who earn the trip will get round trip airfare for 2 people from any major U.S. domestic airport to Indiana. You get 2 nights of hotel accomodations at a 4 star or better hotel. Plus, you get 2 tickets to the Brickyard 400 Nascar Race. If you have never attended a NASCAR event, it is something you should do at least once in your life. For this prize, you get 2 tickets for the best seats in the house at the world famous Indianopolis Speedway. The race takes place on July 25, 2010.

3. At the end of the promotion period, you must email me your proof and confirmed sales; refunds will be subtracted from your total

4. There is a 30 day (not 60) waiting period for possible returns before prizes are awarded

5. You must claim your prize during the month of June 2010, no claims can be made after June 30, 2010

6. If I cannot ship the prize to your location (from U.S.), we will work out an approximate equal value prize, please let me know if this is a known issue

7. You win only the highest eligible prize

8. Sign-up: join my affiliate list before April 30, just enter your email address on my affiliate page (Aweber form)

9. You are responsible for claiming your own prize

10. Since this is my first promotion, I reserve the right to clarify rules based on feedback that I receive here. I will not make arbitrary changes. Changes, if any, will be based on feedback publicly posted here. So, if anything seems awry, please post here and I'll do my best to remedy as quickly as possible.

Thanks for reading.

Why isn't it a reasonable suggestion to say "get a copywriter"? That's exactly one of the things that you need right now. The copy you have right now is weak, to put it mildly.

However, I many suggestions for you which you would define as "reasonable".

Here's one: your sales page is too wide. Make it narrower to make it easier to read/skim.
Here's another one: include multiple subject lines to go with each promotional email that you provide to your affiliates.

    Best,

Curtis, thank you for your response. You pose a fair question.

Having just started, I've spent on web design, writing (for the book), HTML, Aweber, ClickBank fees, hosting fees, video editing and maybe a few items I've missed. So, I feel like I'm in a catch 22 to improve the copy.

I was hoping to get a few sales then improve the copy with the profits. But, I've also received an email from a potential affiliate that said, "Great idea, improve the copy then I'll promote."

So, suggestions for this dilemma would also be appreciated. Any copywriter that wouldn't mind get paid half now and half in another month would be fine also.

And, I'll PayPal you the $5.

    Thank you.

It's uncommon, but some copywriters are willing to waive their upfront fees and just write for equity. I've seen a few JV offers from copywriters here.

Also, you can try bartering for services. If you have something of value (e.g. list, skill), you can trade that in for copy.

The copy is as important or perhaps even more important than the product itself. You pretty much can't proceed without decent copy.

    Cheers,
    Curtis

      Jay,

You don't have to hire a copywriter off the bat, but you can "swipe" from a proven letter that has performed well. Look at the top sellers in Clickbank and see what they do. You can find similar thread in pain relief, etc, they don't have to be about your exact subject.

Don't steal the content, but model the structure and bullets, etc.

You need a much better headline right off the bat.

      Use quotes around it:

"Who Else Wants to Learn the Secrets to Quick Recovery from the Most Common Running Injuries While Reducing Pain Almost Instantly?" is a very rough try at one.

KEY POINT: You better put in some medical disclaimers unless you are an MD, as you might get sued or have other issues arise. I didn't read everything thoroughly, but didn't see anything in there.

Which leads to another point. Why should I listen to you? Are you a doctor? A professional trainer? Olympic Athlete? Stayed at a Holiday Inn Express?

Run your page through the sales copy feedback thread as well.

Also, don't call your product ebooks, but rather guides or reports. Ebooks have negative connotations. You might emphasize that your buyers get instant access, because they need a solution right now.

And explain why there are more than one of them. Is there a reason for that?

I would remove the dual pictures of the books. Just use the big one.

Your testimonials should have full names, not first name and initial. Less credible.

Also, you are guaranteeing results. Is that your money back guarantee?

I assume it is, but I would spell it out:

"I'm so sure of my methods that you have a full 60 days to put me to the test. If you are not completely satisfied that these methods are everything I say they are, just contact me for a full and courteous refund" or whatever.

There is a lot more you can do, but that's a good start.

      Good luck.

I can confirm that both responders in this thread, Curtis and Mike, have been paid. Anyone else?

Also, the text rewrite is in progress and will be complete this weekend. I will upload the new sales page text and the new video by Sunday. I will post here so that anyone on the fence about promoting this product can see the new material.

The video is looking great with editing by a professional who is local to me here in Southern California. And, the text has been revised by a Warrior.

    Thank you everyone.

Looking over your page, it looks okay. But as a seasoned affiliate marketere and vendor, I would recommend you increase the amount of commission to 75% to attract good affiliates.

I'm not expecting to be paid for this because of the above posts, nor am I a copywriting expert, but I just wanted to stress how important it is that you rewrite your copy.

You have some awesome ideas on your page, but some of them get muffled in long and unclear sentences.

A couple suggestions for the copy:

      Headline--
Some of the strongest headlines in history have been 1, 2, or 3 words long. Generally, the shorter and more to the point they are the better. That isn't to say some long ones haven't been effective. Just think attention grabbing. The more someone has to read, the less interested they'll be.

Add a sense of time or urgency

Use a subhead to talk further talk about what your product does... Often times these include promotional offers (trials, guarantees, etc.)

      General copy tips:

RESEARCH: what does your target segment want from your product. If you can't find anything, you need to perform surveys on your own time and dollar.
      Short sentences
      No contractions
      Write in 'active tense'
      Simple and effective word selection
      Multiple subheads are your friend
      Plain english
      No humor--it doesn't work
Call to action--tell the customer they need to 'buy now'.

Sell benefits of the product--Sure your product relives pain, but what will that pain relief allow them to do..Again, research. Will it help them play with their grandkinds? will it help them perform better at work and make more money?

It's really just the copy holding you back. The sales page could be a bit more narrow, but I like the overall design.

      Good Luck!
