Professional Programmer Will Create Any Plugin For Free (no strings)

(I hope this is in the right place! - please let me know if not.)

What is the one thing you're missing out on - the one piece of functionality you wish you had, that would make a big difference to your traffic, optins or conversions?

I'm a WordPress (and general PHP) plugin and theme developer, and I'm looking for ideas for my next project.

There are hundreds of things like popup ad managers, slide-in optin forms, traffic/link builders, and some of them are great, but a lot of them are awful, in terms of programming.

For example: The most popular slide-in ad plugin adds between 200% and 800% to a site's loading time - I've seen this happen on a dozen pages now!

I want to create something really strong, really professionally coded, intuitive and user-friendly, and I'm willing to do it for free.

There's no catch - this is a chance to have a professional programmer working for you for free, on contract if you like.

You'll be granted a 100% free, no strings attached, lifelong license to use whatever I create from your ideas, and access to all upgrades and other related things that come out of it (I'm completely willing to sign a contract on that!)

I'm staking my name and my reputation on this, so you can rest assured I'm not a cowboy. If you want to see any of my work, just check out my portfolio (link in sig) - I can also provide strong references from a lot of projects that haven't been published on my site.

So what's in it for me?

As a freelancer, I obviously want to build up a following and authority in my market (programming and plugin dev), and one great way to do this is to have something which I can release, that will genuinely benefit people. I'm a big fan of internet marketing, and I know a fair bit about it, and this is the next step for me in my freelance career.

So I just need an answer to the simple question - As an internet marketer, What's the one piece of functionality you most crave, that would increase your optins, conversions, etc., either on WordPress or on any CMS (or a static HTML site)? - the one thing you've been looking for, but can't find anywhere and can't afford to pay someone to create?

Hit me up on this thread with replies, or PM me if you like. The best idea gets it - we'll work together to create the functionality you most want.

Simple, a workable autoresponder for wordpress.
Not something to replace Aweber! Just a workable autoresponder plug-in that you could use to build a list on a worpress website aimed at a small niche.
One that would send out an automatic email when they sign up for a free ebook and enable you to send a broadcast newsletter or an individual email or an email course.

Something newbies could use to see if "list building" would work for them, before they commit to a monthly fee to someone like aweber or getresponse or something they could keep using in a hobby niche.

You would have to sort out a reliable way of delivering the emails, speed of emails going out, etc. but would 'nt this be a useful thing for the industry as a whole?
      just a thought

I think this plugin has already been created. There actually is a WP optin plugin now.

    Joss,

I had wished for something ever since I
    started using wordpress.

The most painful part of SEO and blogging
is submitting the articles to social bookmarking sites
    by hand.

Of course there's a software such as bookmarking
demon etc that will do it for you.

    But...

What if there was a wp-plugin that will do it automatically
    as you click "publish"?

I think this kind of a wp plugin will spread faster than a California
    wildfire, don't you?

        Just googled it.

        He charges $60 for it.

We're talking about creating a free plugin here...

If there was a plugin like that free, it will go viral.

This bookmarking thing is why I'm sitting here at 3am. I have WP Syndicator it would be great, if I only had a few sites but I have 20+. It is not automatic, it requires logging in to each site and performing a few clicks for each article you want bookmarked, because of that I don't use it much. It would be ideal if there were a centralized site.

I wouldn't mind there only being 15 to 30 highly ranked sites with a few of Bookmarking Demon's features, just keep it simple so there's no long learning curve.

        LinksAlpha.com

still got to pay the subscription ($3 / month) to publish out to a lot of the sites, but the WP plugin is free.

One thing I would like to see is a transload plugin. Something that you can use to transfer programs between servers.

I have seen something similar before on a site, whereby if you subscribe to the rss feed you could claim a free download below each post. However it was the same download for every post.

It would be nice to unlock individual content for each post. Like maybe a video demonstration of what the article is talking about... That'd be cool !!

Since you mentioned "The most popular slide-in ad plugin adds between 200% and 800% to a site's loading time - I've seen this happen on a dozen pages now!" do you have a "footer ad" slide up plug in that doesn't slow down the site?

I'm looking for that as we speak.

    Hi Joss,

I have a number of ideas planned and I'm looking to develop (Domains registered etc), the thing I'm missing is a great web designer/programmer to partner with to make them happen.

I would be interested in a "Content Overlay Lock System" type of plugin for Fanpages.

The basic idea would be that when some land on the Welcome tab the content is displayed briefly for a few seconds - say 2 - 3 seconds then a pop up overlay would appear to lock the content and the only way to gain access is to either click the "Like" button or opt-in to the list.

On the technical side of things the plugin would either check to see if the visitor has liked the page or has opted-in and if they have it would remember and not show up again - ever! Unless they Unlike the page or Unsubscribed.

As for the aesthetic side of things - it should have options to set border colors, width, custom header and custom content plus an input for the Page URI if not possible to detect it automatically and a textarea for insertion of any autresponder code - putting all this together the plugin would present an overlay pop that looks nice but has the feel of belonging (fit in with Facebook).

Long list but am sure you can do it

As a side note - you could have a Lite version (without customization and the optin option) and a premium version with the full monty!

    So what say you? Doable?

    Thanks for the offer
    Zulf
