Australian Bestselling Diet Book entering online market - Help please!

Hey guys,

I am the author of a diet book that has become an Australian bestseller in 6 months. We've been featured on many radio stations and even the TODAY show. Publicity is good and bookstore sales are good.

The book is self published, and we have a very well known Australian distributor pushing it into bookstores etc, but once the bookstore has taken their cut, and then the distributor, we're left with the printing and posting costs of the book, plus a measly 50c earning.

Where the real rub is, is that sales of our book are mostly referral based, so the bookstores and distributor are taking all the cash. The old saying of "there is no money in books" stands true here.

This is where I would like some help, even opinion would be welcome - you guys are the gung ho IM dudes, so who better to ask.

(I can't disclose any names because this will be found in the search engines, but I can do it privately.)

I have recently set up a page to buy the book online, I used Optimize Press, nanacast and easy video player. The site is converting pretty well.

I have a lot more room to play with (cash wise) here, because I don't have so many middle men slicing and dicing my life's work. sob, sob, quit your bitching you fag.

So essentially, I have a book that sells for $29 plus shipping, and the cost to me to print them is about 5 bucks. I was wanting to find affiliates to promote the book and obviously make some dollars for their efforts.

My understanding of nanacast is that once someone is introduced to my site through an affiliate, they are then 'owned' by that affiliate for life. Is this correct?

If it is, then that is great news, because I am in the process of leveraging my name to create an online personal fitness training program as a future upsell, which of course will be a higher priced item with near zero running cost.

My main question is: would affiliates be interested if I said say:
$10 per sale for the book, and then half of the online program (which would be a $200 program) and any other program that I create thereafter (we've already written 2 more books that are being produced)

Oh, I forgot to mention that there is an ebook version as well, and I have created an upsell sequence for that too.

Is there anything that I am missing? Where do I find affiliates for a diet product?

Thanks so much in advance guys for any help you can give me...

J

sounds interesting. affiliates would be interested. I have a few large lists and have a weight loss list list of about 80,000. PM me with more details if you can.

Other than that you should create and affiliate page on your site if you haven't already done so. Then submit to affiliate program directories so people can find it.

weight loss is such a popular niche that if your product is good you will have no problems finding quality affiliates to promote it.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi,

do you already have a website where you promote your book?
Have you entered a few affiliates programs like clickbank? If so can you send me a PM with your website! I want to get a look at your product to see if it is worth promoting it!

    Hey mate,

I've self-published a book which hit the top 10 Amazon best sellers list for Golf even though I'm not an expert on golf at all and without any press, so I definitely think I can help if you need it.
