How to contact a JV

Hi i am in the process of my 1st project on weight loss consisting of a DVD and three downloadable books and i have been told that a good way to propose a joint venture is to contact website owners, ezine owners and newsletter editors,
i was wondering if anybody can tell me the correct way to go about this and what sort of things should i say in my email etc

as you have probably guessed this is my first jv proposal and i would like to make sure i don't offend anybody

    Just be polite and send something short and sweet where you::

    An example:

    Hi "name"

    I'm preparing to launch a product in "month", on "topic". The title is "title" and it will include a physical DVD in addition to downloadable books.

    Is this a topic that your subscribers would find useful?

    If you think this is a good fit for your subscribers, let me know and I will send you access to the product and the rest of the details.
