My first 1,000 FaceBook Group members, (for free).
Hi all,
my aim for this thread is to build a new FaceBook Group, to 1,000 members, in 30 days, without spending any money on it.
My long-term aim is to build a mailing-list to promote high-converting MMO webinars (I already have a contact who can get me affiliate access to suitable webinars, and I already have the first one set-up for new list-members), so building a relevant FaceBook Group is one way to get the contact details of people interested in relevant subjects.
I've got the Group set up, with a decent header-image, one member (other than me), and some content (I've initially posted some posts of advanced SEO advice for the new member who wants to know about SEO for eComm).
I do have a small mailing-list already, but haven't mailed them much in the last couple of years, so will only mail those who opened my 3 posts a few weeks ago (which is less than 20 I think) so my deliverability doesn't decrease any more than it already has.
I've heard of people making big money from FaceBook Groups, such as a coach making $100k in the first 3 months, and others making various amounts, but don't know what results I can get from a MMO group. (I do have another Group on a different subject which I feel is easier to monetise, so if I can get members to this Group, but can't monetise effectively, I can apply the same approach to that other Group).
Most of the existing general MMO FaceBook Groups are mostly just ads and spam, with little or no real engagement (apart from engagement bait), and a lot of the members are from 3rd-world countries.
So I've made it clear that my Group will be moderated, and I've created some initial rules. It will be interesting to see if I can build a good group, with genuine discussion and people helping each other etc. (I do have 20 years experience moderating a great discussion group, on an unrelated subject, on a different platform).
