goodwealth, I too had been forgotten about by Jake so I haven't been at all happy with his companies services. For what their offering you just wouldn't expect this to happen. Perhaps he's just got too much going on. In his defense, he did offer a refund though when I emailed him but I said no, I still need the work finishing. :confused:

Just wanted to give a quick review of Jake's service and company. I have been using a VA through Jake for 18 months now. I think the service works very well over a good period of time, simply as you really get to know your VA and, more importantly, they get to know the way you work. Thesedays, I simply send off my work and it happens. No educating, no worries. If you're willing to put the time in with your VA, this 'good' service really becomes 'wonderful'.

I have had a part time (SEO) VA since Jan 1st this year and in my opinion the service is an absolute steal at this price.

My VA tells me when his shift is starting, as well as sending through a detailed report every day with the work that has been completed. I usually send through a list of the things I need doing each week and he simply gets on with it - actually I forgot one time so rather than not do anything, he continued doing extra from the previous weeks tasks.

It is hard for me to find fault with the service being offered and for anyone that is interested in a VA, I would suggest giving it a try - you wont be disappointed.

I just wanted to leave my honest review here of this service. I hired two virtual assistants from Jake and First Page Web Search, I hired them on Wednesday. Thursday, I spent hours putting together outlines for projects, opening a HiveDesk account for them, etc. I sent them all of the details so that they would have the project details ready to go for their shift starting at 2:30 AM EST. At 3:00 AM EST, I asked Jake if they had started working yet, since they have not yet logged into HiveDesk, or even accepted the invite for that matter. He told me No, they were having Internet Issues and it's being worked on.

At 8:30 - 9:00 AM EST, I still have no e-mail in my inbox, and the HiveDesk invites sent to each of them had yet to be responded to. I have to send Jake an e-mail asking why they have not started working, and the response was "internet problems" and a "storm", which is fine, but I was still frustrated at the lack of communication, and the fact that I had to be the one to reach out for an update. As a business owner, he should have been pro-active in communication with his customer's to let them know before they wake up to find an empty inbox with no productivity updates.

Since the initial point I inquired with Jake and First Page Web Search, communication has been so/so. Sometimes quick, and sometimes really slow. The two VA's I hired communication was also so/so. I've outsourced before, and find that a common excuse for a lack of productivity is blamed on Internet Problems, and Storms, so this really made me uncomfortable. I decided to cancel my subscription today, and attempt to find the VA's I need elsewhere. Jake did offer to extend my 2-day trial to start on Monday, and have work resume Monday, but I just cannot afford delays, even if it is just a weekend. Thank you anyways, and I apologize for having to write this review, but I see a couple of other posts in this thread about you forgetting about people, and a lack of communication, and this is really something that, as a business owner, you should work on.

On a side note, you started Thursday not Wednesday. Secondly, when working with outsourcers you have to be at least a bit patient, because things happen like storm, and we really can't control this situation.

Also, I was sending emails now because I am using a dial up line. I was on my way sending emails to clients whose VA's are affected with the outage and offer refunds, but you sent me an email first so I replied. It just happens that you emailed me first.

One way that we can reconcile this kind of situation is offer free days or refunds but you don't want to because you are in a hurry. We apologize for the problems and hopefully you can find an outsourcing company with no storm/internet problems. I am trying to reply to everyone's questions as fast as I can, but I also have to sleep, also have other personal and family things to do. And I apologize if there are problems, my response timeframe is usually within 24 hours even on weekends.
